If I'm an NFL general manager and my ball club needs
a running back, what do I do?
2016 is going to have Ezekiel Elliott, probably
Derrick Henry, do I jump into that pool which
is very talented, or do I say let's hold out
and wait for the stellar 2017 class that's
going to include guys like Leonard Fournette, Dalvin
Cook, Nick Chubb, et cetera?
Well, I believe that tomorrow is never promised to you.
So if you need an athletic, talented running back
and Ezekiel Elliot or Derek Henry are available,
I think you have to take them.
For example, the Tennessee Titans,
who have found their franchise quarterback,
I truly believe Marcus Mariota is
headed for greatness in this league,
they need a running back.
They have none.
They missed on Bishop Sankey, they tried to fill it in with
middle-of-the-road guys, it hasn't worked,
I think Ezekiel Elliott would be a perfect fit.
Because he's an every-down workhorse back, and I think
that's the identity that Tennessee wants to have.
Derrick Henry, although I think he's talented,
I'm not sure if that upright running
style that's very successful for him in college
is going to be as successful at the NFL level.
So if you have a need and you're in a position
to fill that need, I think you have to go ahead and fill it.
