The conference today has been a really useful opportunity for staff to get together and
be able to talk, be able to share ideas and sometimes often that informal talk is
just as important as our key note and the opportunity for a range of different workshops.
I think staff development is very very important and the opportunity for practitioners to come
from across the country and get together to hear the authors of different resources
and materials is very important and a key part of that is the opportunity to talk with
one another about how you make sense of what you've heard
and that deepens your own learning. Well it's sparked a lot of discussion between us hasn't
it. Lots of good ideas. What we've been shown
today is just perfect for taking back. Just think of the maths in there. Decision making
is a huge part of these underpinning skills. I have
children up there discussing division. I've never had that before. It's very inspiring
I think. Good for invigorating your enthusiasm and hopefully
when you go back to the school a lot of these things that you've looked at today will help
you to put the things into place. Can you stay standing
if you've got a sister? Right most people have just sat down, what did you have to think?
I basically say that if you want to go and be inspired
again to get yourself into the mathematics and numeracy and actually realise that there
is so much there that we should be giving the children. Really
useful day. Lots of opportunities for talk. Lots of opportunities for staff to share their
ideas and to talk about their current practices and most
importantly the impact that it is going to make in the classroom and how they can actually
take their own learning forward when they return back
to their own establishments.
