I've always wanted to go to URI.
One, because I kind of grew up here with my brother,
both of my brothers are actually coming here
and I just, I have a lot of friends here too.
Close to home, and being in state it's easily affordable
especially with a you know, a recognizable school,
a nationally like recognizable school,
as in URI school, so.
Oh, it's great.
I remember being six or seven years old
and my oldest brother Mike used to bring me to
the games during the ninety-eight ninety-nine season,
and bringing me to Keaney Gym just made me want
to be a part of you know URI athletics and
knowing when I was coming here that
my oldest brother Mike used to do this Job
and I really wanted you know get my feet wet
and you know get to know the athletic department
and follow the athletics business.
I've wanted you know to do that since I was little.
These four years I've just taken in so much, you know.
Like go meeting people from you know
from the Marketing department, from like the AD,
even the Sports Communication department where I work
and just being there for four years you sink in
so much knowledge that you know you just have it
inside of you to go into the real world and
you know learn from what you've learned.
My whole life I played sport after sport after sport,
especially basketball.
With my father being a coach for the Lincoln High School,
Lincoln Middle School and High School team,
and basically since the day I could walk
I had a basketball in my hand,
you know and from there on I just carried it.
Not making a team sport in college is not going
to make me dislike sports, you know what I mean.
I'm always going to be passionate about athletics
and especially basketball for the rest of my life.
I would say actually starting, you know,
I mean just getting my feet wet and starting
and I couldn't tell you how fast,
how fast it's gone by these four years.
I mean I look back and you know, even if,
I mean the first day is moving on campus
and I mean I live off now, but
it feels like it was yesterday.
People here just have you know so much pride
for the school, and just I mean the people,
I mean URI, just the people you've met here,
you know the relationships you've made,
I mean the fun times you've had with those people
and just like getting an education here.
It's just fenomenal, everything put together.
It's just a great school.
I really wouldn't change a thing,
I really wouldn't.
You know, I mean I just had a great time here.
