This is a 60-second Army Now from Soldiers Radio and Television.
I'm Sergeant Earl Scott.
Waves are now the problem in the North Dakota and Minnesota flood zones as another winter storm blows across the area.
Wind action on the Red River could cause damage to sandbag levees in vulnerable parts of the protection system.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is using rolls of polyurethane to help protect the levees from saturation--
--and distribute the force of water, still more than 20 feet over levee capacity.
The Corps has been working hand in hand with local, state, and federal agencies to help hold back this record flood.
The Guard is part of the community across the state--
--and when bad things happen in our communities, we're going to be right there right beside them--
--and we're going to stay until the work is done.
The National Guard has been in high gear distributing sandbags.
