Hey dad?..
Yes son..
Would you happen to know anything about the Nahuatl language?
Well, from what I know, it's the Aztec language right?
Exactly! Well, dad I want to learn it.
Well, that's good son, but if I was you I would focus on English instead. Tell me, when will
you be using that Aztec language?
Music..
How's it going everyone? My name is Marco
and today I am going to be making a simple guacamole, with a slight peculiarity, it will be done in the Nahuatl language.
As a student of this language, I have noticed the lack of media
outlets that promote its daily use, so that is where I got the idea of combining two things
that personally fascinate me; which are languages (in this case Nahuatl) and food.
Let me know if you guys think it's a good idea, or if you'd like to see other recipes done in the Nahuatl language.
In my previous video I was asked about the resources that I've used to
learn this language, so I'll go ahead and leave the links in the description box to
the resources that have helped me the most, just in case you'd like to see them.
Son.. Haven't they ever told you a man in the kitchen smells like a chicken?
G. Lopez-"I can't do nothing"
Alright everyone, after washing our hands, we need our ingredients.
I will be making my guacamole with two avocados, half of a tomato, "TACOS? Not tacos.. It's tlahco(half)..",
onion, chile serrano, cilantro, lime, and a bit of salt.
Other people also add corn grains or cheese,
and sometimes people don't like a particular ingredient such as tomato.
It's ok, no worries, this is just to give you all an idea, feel free to make your guacamole with the ingredients you wish.
At this point I'm cutting everything by hand, but you can also
blend these ingredients if you want a creamy texture.
To split the avocado, start at the top and cut down the middle all the way around.
Let's count, one.. two.. three...
Let's just add a bit of salt and lime so that our avocado will stay green and avoid oxidation.
Once you have your ingredients ready, just place them in your desired dish and mix!
And BOOM! we're all done.
You can eat guacamole alongside other foods, I'm going to eat it with my blue-corn totopos (tortillla chips).
Thank you all for watching my video here at ENLACE CULTURAL,
I'm Marco and 'till next time!
