Hey guys! Caboose89 here, showing you my new minecart station. Its designed to look old and decrepid
and will hopefully fit right into your server
it's quite a big one. Its 47 across,
by 34 high
and 21 deep.
it is a redstone station, so it may use up a few resources, but not much.
When its idle it doesnt take up any resources.
It has 10
total destinations with each destination having its own
...
track! Its double sided, but you could merge it into one if you require.
all tracks arrive into the same location, and appear in the arrivals hall.
So, lets have a quick look inside. The world will be downloadable, and shematic avalable.
So inside, we have arrivals over there,
An
overlooking arena up here,
and departures down there, with benches
inside
A couple of thanks first, before i get onto anything else; Egmok for his station, which gave me
inspiration.
uh...
qubehamster, for his "sharing is caring" feature, which showed me some excellent redstone bits,
and DicoTheRedstoner for his piston station selector, which is amazing.
We will start off in departures.
By the way, this is a 1.3 station and wont work in 1.2, due to the wood.
probably would work, but you will have to replace the wood.
So, here we go. "Please wait until barriers lower".
"one passenger at a time in case you may become trapped"
uh... possibly but its more a case of stopping people greifing each other.
So only one person can select where their going at one time.
Here we go;
ten selections. I know it only goes up to 9, but i did two fours because i cant count.
So, lets head to Preston.
A little fountain there. So, we have made our selection, and this barrier has dropped.
That one is still up.
That one stays up to stop people changing your destination behind you.
That goes up.
dispencer pops a minecart
get in; you go.
That plate resets the pistons upstairs. And the selector sends us off to
Preston.
The tracks use right hand drive, so you go out and come in on your right.
Get back in here.
if you enter the arrivals the wrong way, you will just hit the buffer
and go back to the arrivals.
up we go...
and here we are at Arrivals!
ive got a used cart...
fire fire pit
for any unused carts. Its lined with adminium, so no-one can break in.
Same for the fountain downstairs.
This stops people loitering in arrivals.
You can place an
NPC in there if you want a shop.
The station itself is fully lit in public and private areas, to stop mobs spawning.
Before i finish ill show you a quick
bit of the redstone.
If you need access, and you are an admin, you can break through into here.
Here is the selector by DicoTheRedstoner. Excelent compact design.
This splits into busses, which goes down into the
drop switches, which i will show you outside.
Those are the drop switches. Here are the controlls for the barriers for departures.
All of it is sealed, and the only way it can be greifed is if someone put water in the tracks,
which if yo have WorldGuard on ( which i recommend),
then this pit will stop any damage in here.
So, back up top and we'll have a look at the drop selectors.
Oh yeah, In here youve got your dispencer,
for the minecarts.
Easy peasy.
The last bit
is to look at the drop selector.
The premis, i got from Eggmok
and his station. He had
a similar design
but i couldnt replicate it as the pistons kept popping
the rails off, and broke every time. So this is a version i have designed.
This is the normal state, traveling in this direction ( straight ahead).
When you power it,
the first thing that happens
the far one pushes left
into this gap
and the piston block the path.
Then this one pulls the rail onto a safe block.
When this block has been completely vacated,
this piston pulls back the block underneath,
so you can drop down!
Lets have a quick look:
And thats all there is to it.
This shematic will spawn from
this point,
with the cart traveling from right to left.
And the schematic for the station, the spawn point will be
the grass block
in the middle of the doorway.
Facing forwards.
Thats all there is to it! If you have any questions or queries, feel free to like, comment,
and subscribe!
Thats it! I hope you enjoy the station. Let me know if you use it in your server! Thanks very much, and see you later!
