The Voice gets down to business and a birthday gift from Britney Spears. This is EW’s Must
List for Monday, December 2nd.
NBC’s ‘The Voice’ is getting cutthroat. Just 6 singers are left, and as we learned
last week, no one is safe. I mean, Matthew in the bottom 3? Expect guts to be spilled
on some show stopping sets tonight. So far we've seen yoga, bizarro choreography, and
pyrotechnics. What else could they have up their sleeves?
NBC’s one-two Monday night concludes with the midseason finale of ‘The Blacklist’.
We're told tonight's episode will give some good backstory on our antihero Red, played
superbly by James Spader, [clip] “Circumstances have changed”. We're hearing that might
include more info on Agent Keen's relationship to the criminal mastermind. Who’s your daddy,
Lizzy?
Happy birthday, Britney Spears! The 32-year-old singer celebrates today by dropping her eighth
album, ‘Britney Jean.' A tight collection of dance-pop songs that mixes club bangers
like the single “Work ***” with intimate moments of subtler fare – Le Brit says it's
her “most personal” album to date. Intrigued yet?
In twangier news, Sugarland singer Jennifer Nettles is hosting tonight’s CMA Christmas
Special on ABC. Performers include Trace Adkins, Luke Bryant, Mary J. Blige, Kellie Pickler...
Snoopy – Charlie Brown's dog, not the Lion -- and Darius Rucker. If Hootie can’t get
you in the spirit, humbug to you.
That’s it for Monday. Come back tomorrow for more pop culture goodness.
