Aloha, this is Daniel from the Princeville Wine Market. Aloha, I’m Collin, creation
director of Grow Culture. Today we’re going to talk about pairing wine with local foods
you’ll find here on-island. At market today, we bought some fresh arugula, citrus to make
a vinaigrette, egg-fruit which has a great custard-like texture, and some longan for
sweetness. What would you recommend to do with that?
Today I picked Leth, Gruner Veltliner. Gruner Veltliner is all about minerality. It’s
very refreshing, it’s one of the favorite grape varietals of sommelier to pick with
food pairings. It goes really well with produce. This one has a lot of honey suckle and green
apple aromas coming off of it. I think it will go really well with this dish we’re
making.
Nice balance with the longan and the egg-fruit. If you’d like to know more about upcoming
events, please visit us at GrowCulture.com.
Once again I’m Daniel Braun, certified sommelier and owner of the Princeville Wine Market here
at the Princeville Center on the North Shore. We specialize in small production, boutique
and allocated wines. Aloha.
