Digital technology is changing the world and the arts.
But are we really making the most of all the digital
opportunities out there?
Can we harness them to better connect with our audiences,
and transform the way we do business for the long term?
To find out, Nesta, Arts Council England and the Arts
and Humanities Research Council set up to seven
million pound digital R&D fund.
It can offer any organisation with an arts project,
technology companies and researchers up to 125,000
pounds to work together, developing digital projects
that explore new business models or
enhance audience reach.
Interested?
Good.
Then the first thing you'll need is an idea.
And not just any idea.
It needs to have serious potential to reach beyond your
project and make an impact on the wider arts world.
Need some help?
That's fine.
Contact the Digital R&D Fund with your questions, and we'll
give you advice on how to develop your idea
and bring it to life.
You can also get information about potential partners on
our website.
Because although anyone can come up with the initial
concept and apply, all three of these cogs need to be in
place and working together to get things moving.
We've already supported projects that are using
smartphone apps, augmented reality and live broadcast.
Now it's time to add your new idea to the list.
And remember, arts organisations aren't just
using these techniques to remodel the way they work with
their audiences.
They're also unlocking valuable new sources of income
for the future.
So if you've got an idea that deserves to be taken to the
next level, we'd love to hear from you.
But you'll need to be quick.
The deadline for applications is January 7, 2014.
