Lets be honest we use A LOT of electricity. We all know the non-renewable energy we use
contributes to global warming, climate change and blar de blar. You've heard it all before...
But did you know there are 26 million homes in the UK and 27% of CO2 emissions come from
heating and lighting our homes?
As a country we've recognised this is a problem and as a result of this the UK government
has planned to cut CO2 emissions by 80% by 2050.
But how can us ordinary folk do our bit to help the environment?
Well we could reduce our power consumption, tell little Jimmy he can't play his new Xbox,
turn off our lights, Focus on energy efficiency and only buy products that use less power.
OR... you could optimise the voltage that comes into your home by installing a VPhase
unit.
Now it's not particularly glamorous we know but it's an easy, effective and affordable.
way to go green which will also save you loads of money off your electricity bills.
It might sound like a fad but it’s already widely used within energy saving companies
like Tesco- who saved £8.3m a year from their electricity bill. Pretty amazing huh? And
now for the first time in the UK this technology is available for the home.
So... how does it work?
Well... in a nutshell it reduces the incoming household voltage (typically 245 volts) to
a steady 220 volts. Almost all appliances don’t need the additional 25 volts, so there’s
no reduction in quality and you've saved around 10% off your electricity bill straight away!!
That’s like 40 pints of beer!!
Although many appliances will vary, you can expect to see savings of typically 17% on
fridges and freezers, 15% on light bulbs and EVEN an extra 10% off energy saving light
bulbs!
But... as well as saving money you'll be saving a staggering 4 cubic tonnes of CO2 over the
25+ year lifespan of a product. This equates to driving 22,222km in a family car, (the
equivalent of driving from London to Edinburgh and back nearly 17 times!)
but even more staggering is this little fact....
If every one of the 26 million households in the UK fitted a V Phase, it would save
around £1,454,440,000 off our collective annual electricity bill for the country!!
That means as a nation...we could buy 150 million space hoppers.
The V Phase unit must be fitted by a qualified electrician and sits neatly next to the fuse
board and doesn’t ever need servicing. It comes with a 5 year warranty, can be used
alongside other green technologies and doesn’t require a change in your lifestyle.
So what are you waiting for? It’s a complete no brainer.
