Hey guys,
welcome to JustSomeMotion backstage!
It's Friday morning
and we are where they shoot Let's Dance,
Germany's biggest TV dance show.
Today I'll guide you through the "Golden Hall" of costumes.
We will meet Katja,
the head of costume design,
and also Sarah Lombardi.
So this should be a great thing.
Today's theme is "Around the World",
so everything from Lambada
over Rock 'n' Roll
and back to German pop hits.
So let's get going!
Today's theme is "Around the World".
How did you prepare for this
and what regions would you like to represent?
We got Lindy Hop, Bollywood and Rock 'n' Roll.
What costume here was the most work
and how long did it take you to create it?
We had to glue a huge amount of rhinestones
on Victoria Swarovski's dress.
You can see the small applications here.
It's up to fifteen or twenty thousand of them.
One by one.
So you can imagine that we
sometimes work about 40-60 hours
just on one dress,
keeping my whole crew busy.
For Sandy's dress we did not only
apply rhinestones to the sleaves and legs
but also each of the fringes you see here were applied by hand.
I already heard that Sarah's costume last week
was a lot of work...
What will she be wearing today?
Today her theme will be Bollywood,
but we designed her dress to look very elegant,
with golden fringes, pink accessories,
a beautiful necklace
bracelets, and jewellery on her feet.
So it looks very Bollywood.
Yeah, definitely!
Maybe I'll come back in the future
to also put on those amazing costumes!
Hi Sarah, I'm Sven!
Hi! How are you?
Yea, how about you? Are you nervous?
Yes. I'm OK now, but we're rehearsing soon
and after that the tension rises.
How did you experience the past 7 weeks here?
Training was exhausting,
but it's also so different from what I usually do.
So it was great fun.
And it's crazy how much I was able to
open up here on Let's Dance.
You're usually on stage as a singer, not a dancer:
Did dancing on stage make you more nervous than usual?
Yes, because when I sing I can rely on my voice
and I know what I'm doing
On the first show here, when I knew I had to dance,
my legs were shaking.
But this is also why I do this:
To challenge myself and do something
I know I'm not usually great at.
I saw last week's costume
which you got many compliments for...
What's today's theme?
The costumes here are just so beautiful
and I'm amazed by how much effort they put into them.
Today's theme is Bollywood,
so I will dress accordingly.
Hi, I'm Robert!
I saw you on TV dancing Charleston to electronic music!
I saw you earlier and thought:
That's him, hes awesome!
How did you experience the past few weeks?
It's also your first time on Let's Dance:
How is it to be working with Sarah?
Robert, don't say anything wrong!
Working with Sarah is great fun!
We laugh a lot and that is why
we can also work well and concentrated in the meantime.
It's truly a blessing to have such a great partner!
Now that's a huge compliment!
Can't you guys dance together? I'd like to see that!
Why not?
Just for me!
OK, let's try it!
Good, now get out of here! :)
We promised, we deliver!
Sarah challenged us and we prepared a little something.
I'm excited!
Yaaaaaay!
10 points!!
You made it straight to the final!
We've been watching you prepare all day,
so let's see how you did tonight:
And in the next round are:
Sarah and Robert!
How was your trip around the world?
It was a great show and again so much fun!
We got great feedback from the audience and many points.
We made it to the next round. Couldn't be any better!
Congrats to being the first to advance to the next round!
You got a great score and already the winning smile.
How was your trip around the world?
Colorful!
We had tons of fun this week.
Somehow the Charleston is in both our blood.
I'm looking forward to taking another look behind the scenes next week!
Glad you liked it!
I promise you'll have fun with us!
That's it for today.
I hope you enjoyed JSM backstage!
