-The Clark County Detention Center
is located at 330 South Casino Center Drive.
It's actually just behind the regional Justice Center,
which is the courthouse where a large majority
of the cases in Clark County go to.
If your family member is in custody, or loved one,
friend, whoever it might be, is in custody at the Clark County
Detention Center, you can go online very easily
and run their name and find out whether they're located there.
You can also call the Clark County Detention Center
at 702-671-3900.
And they have live operators that'll
answer most of the time.
And if you provide them with a name and date of birth--
usually a name is sufficient-- they will provide you
information about whether the person is there,
and visitation hours, and so forth.
The Clark County Detention Center
has recently changed their policies with regard
to visitation.
It used to be that you just show up
and stand in line to request to visit
an inmate during visitation hours.
They've gone to a system where, in essence, you
have to go online and register.
And you make your appointments for visitation.
The visitation is not a contact visitation.
It's a video visitation, where you basically go report
to the lobby of the Clark County Detention Center.
And you get sent to a video station.
And the person that you're visiting,
you see through a television screen on the other end.
And there's videoconferencing.
So you're both looking at each other,
and talking to each other.
But it's not a contact visit.
