Hi, I'm Jennifer Cail and on behalf of Expert Village I'm going to show you how to make
these beautiful delicate delicious spritz cookies. Our next step that we are going to
do is dividing up the dough and coloring it. The spritz cookie dough is really easy to
make into different colors which also cuts down on your time if you want to do something
decorative but not have something really intricate. So we are going to scrape up a bunch of this
dough and we are only going to leave about a third of it behind in the bowl. So you can
just put it into another bowl. And the third that we leave behind in the mixing bowl is
what we are going to color to start with. And you can divide it into as many parts as
you want or you can color the entire batch. One color I am just going to show you with
a portion of it so that we can do something different with other parts of the dough if
you want to. That looks good as too what's left. Then we are going to put some green
food coloring in our bowl and we will start out with a few drops and see how that works.
So let's put just a few drops to start with. Be very careful when you are using the food
dye, once it touches something that is non-edible it sticks. So we are going to mix this for
a moment and then we will see our color.
Now you can see we have nice lovely pale green dough. The amount of food dye that you are
going to need depends on how much dough you are coloring and how brilliant of a color
you want. So adjust, play around with the colors and don't be afraid to experiment.
