How to draw, PaigeeDraw Cotton Candy Chibi Drawing tutorial. This tutorial teaches you how to sketch a chibi.
Hi, this is Paige from PaigeeDraw, and welcome to my video Tutorials.
In this tutorial, we are going to be sketching a chibi.
Ok, first you sketch her head.
First I start with a circle, just like all of my drawings.
Then I branch off and make a rectangular shape and that is going to be her head. It is pretty easy.
Now I am going to draw guidelines where the chibis body will be. For chibis you dont,
really have to draw joints or anything. It is like you are drawing a stick person.

Chibis are fairly unproportional. I draw Chibis with,
smaller heads than alot of other chibis. that is ok.
I am going to fix the head a bit because it is too square.
Even though I am drawing a rectangle as the bottom of it, I still want it to be kinda rounded.
Now I have the shape of the head right, and I can
draw the body of the chibi. So you are just adding a couple of mm farther than the skeleton.

it is very important to get the body right the first time, or you keep having to fix it.
and that is no fun. I dont like erasing and starting over.
Remember, this is the pencil stage, so it is ok to erase your mistake, and they are easily fixed.
You should make sure you fix all of your mistakes now. If you wait until later when you are finelining, it is just aweful to try to fix them.
Now you have the body. I am going to draw a face on it.
I make their eyes like a japanese symbol. The sound of No, looks like the Chibi eyes. I try to make it the same.
I add a bit extra too it.
This is a neat way to think about how to draw eyes, just a little swirl.
When I draw the mouth, I make 2 little dots on the ends.
on the edges then I branch off of it. I never really connect both sides together. This is the style.
It can be tricky.
Now we have her face. For more How to draw Manga tutorials, please check out our web site at http://www.paigeedraw.com/
I always work on the side of the hair first, then the bangs, then the other side, then finally the back.
Once you have the front pieces and they look nice, then you can branch off of that and it does not look like it is going all over the place.
and she is going to have pig tails. So I draw a little bit around her head, then add little circles and you can add some lines to make it piecy, then I make little
bit of hair in the back even though it is tied up.
now I am going to draw a hair thing - ice cream cone maybe. Now I will draw her cloths. The reason why I draw the body before the cloths, is because it gives me more options.
If you just go ahead and draw the cloths, sometimes, the legs wont match up with the body, or if you decide you want pants instead, then you dont have that option.
so I draw the body first, and then I can think about it. There is no problem with erasing. It can be tedious, but
it is worth it to just draw the whole thing out.
To make it easier to see what we are doing, I am going to erase...
the body that is under the dress, not the whole thing, then
I will do some touch ups.

I am going to add a bit of detail on the skirt.

Now we will draw some boots. My favorite shoes to draw on chibis, are actually just boots. They are just litte squares and I think they are soo cute!
I like drawing chibis with rectangle feet.... I dont know why?
It just makes it cute in my opinion.
Then we can do a few more touch ups and we are done our Chibi!
Our sketch is finished. If you want to learn how to draw, check out all of my online videos, the facebook pages as well as my web site www.paigeedraw.com
