Hi there,
I’m Naomi Millbank-Smith,
and in this video,
I’m going to share three quotes
that you all have heard before!
Appelér prides itself in sharing quality content
with our followers in social media.
At least, we try our best.
And to help us out, we cooperate
with some of the leading experts
within sales and persuasion.
So, if we fail to come up with something original,
then hopefully some of our contributors
and business partners will.
We know perfectly well
that there are hundreds, thousands maybe…,
sales trainers, motivational speakers,
life coaches out there in social media
that are competing for your attention.
What all of them have in common
is that they love to publish
motivational quotes.
We also know perfectly well
that chances are that you are starting
to get really sick of hearing
the same quotes over and over again.
If you are working in sales,
run a small business,
are into self help or goal setting,
you are especially vulnerable to be exposed
to the same old clichés
clichés every time you go online.
We in Appelér
may have been guilty of this in the past
and we can not promise you
that we will never do it again.
However, we pledge
that this will be the very last time
we will ever mention the following
three, totally overused…, motivational quotes.
Number one:
«Whether You Think You Can or Can’t,
You’re Right»
This quote is attributed to Henry Ford
and is an amazing quote
with a lot of truth to it.
Only too bad that it has been “tweeted”,
“liked” and repeated way too many times.
Number two:
«The best sales people are made, not born»
We don’t know who originally said this
but if you work in sales
you have probably heard it many times before.
It’s also a quote that we believe to be true
but out of respect for you
we promise not to repeat it anymore.
You may have heard some variations
of this quote as well.
Like “The best geniuses are made, not born”,
“The best leaders are made, not born”,
“The best lovers are made, not born”.
You can decide
which you think are true, and not.
Number three:
«Do or do not, There is no try.»
For you Star Wars fans out there
you recognize this quote
from Jedi Master Yoda
and the rest of you have probably also
heard it a million times already.
We promise
it is the last time you will hear it from us!
If there are any other overused quotes
that, for better or worse, have become clichés
you can share them in the comment field below
and we will do our best to resist the temptation
to tweet or share them
on our Facebook wall.
