The U.S. ambassador to Korea, Sung Kim , is expected to step down before his term ends.
Citing diplomatic sources, Seoul-based Yonhap News Agency reports that Kim told acquaintances
at a meeting on Monday that he will no longer be the ambassador to Korea this summer.
The news has fueled speculation Kim will be succeeded by Mark Lippert, a longtime adviser
to President Obama and the chief of staff to Defense Secretary, Chuck Hagel.
Kim, the first Korean-American to serve as ambassador to Korea,... began his term in
November 2011.
