I'm in the process of making a line around my logo
because I'm going to apply some red colour.
I don't want any red overspray on my blacks.
Yes it looks pink because the spray is so fine that it will come out pink.
I don't want it too red right away because I don't want to have too much paint on there.
That could make the paint too thick and it could affect the spray.
It could cause an overspray and what we call 'spider webs'.
The paint could start dancing around
so, basically, you take your time
and you build up your tones.
I'm not doing the most technical airbrushing
I'm just filling in-between the tape.
You don't need a degree in airbrushing to do what I'm doing right now.
My three year old daughter could airbrush what I'm doing right now.
In other words, she couldn't really 'beef it up'
because everything is masked. This is pretty safe; 'child's play'...
There's not much 'mad skill' here.
I'm sure I could probably screw it up and put on too much paint
because with the spraygun, you can be at this distance and
with a movement of the finger you can do this
and this is kinda what we don't want.
So you still have to control your spray somewhat.
It ends up that you do everything with your airbrush gun...
Trumpets wailing, the angels singing, the sun rising...
it's not like that at all.
If you can do it with a hand brush
put some paint on a brush and do it!
It's only art.
Making a motorcycle tank
cost more in tape than it does in paint!
*@#!
When you mask something with tape... "Mask"; to not put paint on the edge
and you want to pull off the tape without pulling off the paint...
if you hall from above like so, you create pressure on the tape.
It's going hall up what ever is underneath it.
But if you roll your tape like this... on it's back
there's never any presssure, the tape just rolls off.
...hello little fly *** head!
There... do we paint the tongue red?
Oh the dilema, the dilema...
It's tough living an artist life.
