In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to add “on demand” videos from the library to your blackboard
course. You can add “on demand” videos to any blackboard
content area. If you want to create a specific content area for your
videos, navigate to the course menu on your course home page
and mouse over the plus sign in the top left corner. Then select
“create content area” from the menu. Call the new area
videos, and make it available to users so that students can access the
folder. This will create a video section in your
course menu. Enter that section.
Mouse over “build content”
and select “item” from the drop down menu.
Under “content information” enter a name for your video
but don’t write anything in the text box yet. In another
tab, open up the “Video on Demand” page for the library through the link in the description.
Click on “Films on Demand”
From this page, find the video you wish to embed on your blackboard
site.
Then, on that video page,
click “Embed this Video” and select
the alternative embed code.
Copy the code, and navigate back to your blackboard course.
In the text box tool bar, click the angle bracket to switch to
HTML view. Remove any text already in the box and
past your embed code. Then, click on
the angle bracket again to switch to view mode. You will see
a thumbnail of your video. You can then enter any explanatory text
and click submit to add your video to the page.
