Welcome
I'm Tasha from Michael's Chūbō. Today's show is
Omurice style Doria
Let's go over the ingredients.
Onions, white rice, eggs, shitake mushrooms, parsley,
canned tuna, ketchup, shredded cheese, salt and pepper,
onion powder,
garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and heavy cream
The measurements of the ingredients are on the Michael's Chūbō website
so be sure to check it out.
In a bowl, add eggs
heavy cream and
pinch of salt and pepper
and mix
Set this aside for now.
Next, let's prepare the 'inside' of the Omurice style Doria.
In a frying pan, coat lightly with olive oil. I'll be heating this over medium flame.
If you're using a stainless steel frying pan at home,
heat over high.
Once the oil is hot, put in shitake mushrooms.
sprinkle some salt and pepper
When the shitake mushrooms are a golden color,
add onions
and another pinch of salt and pepper
when the onions are translucent, add rice
add another pinch of salt and pepper
then butter
once the butter is melted, add canned tuna
mix this together, then add ketchup, seasonings, and salt and pepper
turn heat down to low,
and add half the amount of cheese
when the cheese melts a little, turn off the heat.
Let's transfer this into a different container.
I'll be using Falk's paella pan
to bake in the oven, but if you prefer,
this recipe yields about 4 servings,
so if you want to use smaller containers for this, you can.
Just be sure to
lightly coat the inside of whatever you use with butter or oil.
The rice mixture is layered flat into the pan like this
Set aside for now.
Next, we will be preparing the next layer
which is the egg.
While we wait for this frying pan and oil to heat up, preheat your oven
to 250℃
This is warm enough now so let's add the egg mixture
What I want you to be cautious of when cooking the egg is
not to scramble it.
Just let it cook a little,
and leave it half runny
When it looks like this, turn the heat off
and pour over the top of the rice mixture
Spread this out
as evenly as possible
On top of this, spread the remaining cheese
sprinkle some parsley over the top,
and cook in the oven for about 10 minutes.
7 minutes has gone by
The cheese melted evenly and is a nice golden color,
so I'm taking it out a little early
Omurice style Doria
There you have it!
Thanks for watching
Enjoy!
