Mariel: This is a Latin showcase night for the Latin Ensembles at Humber.

There's a kind of a pop R 'n' B night, more contemporary jazz night
For our Mexico trip we'll be going down to Mexico City. They've started an annual Literary Festival and
they want to branch out to include music.
It turned out that the Canadian Embassy also heard about us going down there and they required us to play for the G20. The Summit.
Denny Christianson: For them they'll be seeing a blending of jazz and Latin music interpreted by
a Canadian college group, led by a maestro on the piano from Havana, Cuba, Hilario Duran, who
who's one of our faculty members.
For us, I always love the fact that our young musicians from Humber are now going to get down and
perform for people from a totally different culture.
More and more in the last, especially in this last year, I've seen people who are able to diversify in a lot of different areas.
People who are solid players who are also experienced producers. People who are club owners who also

have a small record label and then perform on the side. There's a real value to this program that they're able
to train you in all those different things.
I'm really excited just to see the response. I love just hearing people clap afterwards.
