We're here to talk about groove today. Everything that you do has to feel good.
I didn't know how close we were to the New orleans feel because everything I
did was a march beat to me.
A quarter note is a quarter note, half, whole,
none of that, will ever change, no matter where you go in the world. But it's
how you interpret it.
Less is more. The less that I play, the more everybody
else is able to join in.
It's ghost notes because of the fingers. But you
never ever have to think in terms of them being even.
It's latin, but it's a four feel. The highlights of it is just keeping on top of the beat. As a
drummer, you don't need a click track. That is your job. You are the click
track. You got a reverse thing going on there with your toms. It's just less
work and you don't have to worry about dropping your tempo.
