Hi I'm Ann Myrick and today I'm going to tell you how to buy a table lamp. You really need
to think about where you want it. Is it going to be in a specific area or do you want to
buy just a great lamp and then move it around? I'm a decorator so I tend to move everything
around so I tend to like to buy things not just for one area but that I can put on one
table and then move it to another table if I need to so over here we have one, there
are many ways to buy lamps. You can buy different things, have it put together for a lamp as
in this example, I found this bunny and I took it to a lamp store and then had the lamp
made so I specifically had the lamp made for the table. These are very old lamps that I
found. I found the lamps, I loved them but then I went and found great shades because
the shades that were on them looked like grandma shades and I wanted to, I loved the lamp so
I wanted to really spruce it up so I found these great shades. What you want to think
about in a lamp is where it is going to go, if you are going to use it for a reading lamp
you want it tall and you want a nice substantial lamp. I would get a variety of lamps. Sometimes
I will go into client's houses and I will see that they have all of these small narrow
tall lamps that sometimes belong on a buffet but they have them every place and and I would
say get a variety, get some big lamps, get some smaller lamps, use some black shades,
use different types of shades but you really want to think about where it is going and
what type of lamp you need for that area. This is Ann Myrick and that is how you pick
out a lamp.
