Hi, I'm Amy, your Western Direct interactive host.
Today, we're in Watrous, Saskatchewan, at Danceland with Arnie, the General Manager and owner
of the facility. We're hear to talk about a little bit about the crowd that you bring in to Danceland --
and the performers that you bring in.
-Yes, well, we have some celebrities that come here every year.
One is the Polka King out of St. Cathrines, Ontario.
He's the Polka King of Canada. He's been coming here for 25 years.
And, he'll be here in November.
We get The Emeralds, out of Edmonton -- who made the bird dance famous.
-Ooh!
-They originally started the bird dance.
The bird dance originally started in Germany, but they picked it up in Canada, and that's where it came from.
Then, we have the Soft Tones from Brooks, Alberta.
And, of course, we have The Decades -- that's my band!
-Ohh! -Yeah, we're good!
-I bet you are, I bet you are!
And then you have weekends where you have weddings...
-Weddings, we have banquets and conventions, you name it!
-So it's available. -We'll get them here.
Weddings, for example, we put rugs on the floor. Put all the round tables on the floor.
We make it more intimate, and we leave enough open floor for the dancing.
And, we'll get them married, we have the service here, and we have the banquet convention,
the meal here, and then the dance after!
-Fantastic! A one stop shop at Danceland! -We promise to get them married if they come here!
-Ha ha ha! -Ha ha.
