Hello, I'm from the Trove support team
and I’m going to introduce you to the Trove Forum.
The Trove Forum is a place for users of Trove to come together
to discuss topics of mutual interest,
to share tips and tricks for getting the most out of Trove,
and to ask questions of other Trove users.
To participate in the Forum you have to be a member of Trove
Registering in Trove gives you an identity on the Forum,
a fixed username on all messages you post
and an online public profile.
To find out about registering in Trove,
lease check out our ‘How to?’ screencast ‘Your Trove Profile’.
However, you don’t have to be a member
if all you want to do is read the Forum.
To find the Forum, click on the link
at the top right hand side of the page.
The forum contains a series of Bulletin boards,
which are broad subject categories.
Each Bulletin board contains ‘threads’,
which are conversations about more specific subjects.
To read a thread, click on its title.
A thread is a conversation between members.
Each thread begins with one post
and grows as others join the conversation.
In this example, a registered Forum member
has asked for help finding a particular newspaper article.
A number of people have joined the conversation
and discussed their attempts to find this article
When you want to join a conversation
you can do so by clicking the button ‘Reply to Thread’.
You can reply to specific posts
by clicking on the ‘Reply’ link at the bottom of the post.
You can include the text of the original post
by clicking on ‘Reply with Quote’.
You can find out more information about the people in the conversation
by clicking on their username.
This gives you the option to view their public profile,
send them a private message or an email,
add them to a contacts list or view the posts they’ve made.
If you’d like more information about how to use the Forums
there’s more detailed information in the Forum FAQ.
Before participating in the Forum,
we recommend you read the Terms of use.
This was just a short introduction to the Trove Forum.
There’s a wealth of information to be found here,
why not get involved?
