-We are with Kaer, member of the mythic Hip Hop band Starflam.
-He's just finished his concert on the Fnac scene. He really rocked the show.
-How do you feel after this show, Kaer?
-I feel great! My point is... people were arriving progressively
The show could get settled, even if the show was only for 30 minutes. We could get a little sunshine.
And I saw in the crowd's eyes that they were enjoying the music.
And that was the best reward for me. No matter if you are playing sooner or later in the day... When you see people doing like...
"the music you are playing is good", that was really great to me
-Is it the first time you've played in Francofolies?
-No, it's not. We have played several times here, since '97 or '98
It's been a while... with Starflam.
For a solo project, its the first time. And it's so nice!
-Does it change anything to you, playing in a festival?
-The only thing it's that you get cold when you have a weather like we had here...
But anyway, you still want to make it hot, the stage is big, the speakers are playing loud...
and it's a sharing moment. People can see my solo performance for the first time because I'm in this discovery program called Franc'off.
This was the opportunity to meet my new audience. I'm glad to be here.
BAILAR
-So, you have some mixed roots. We can find them in your project nammed "Versatil" that you shared with us this afternoon.
Tell us how was the album created?
-I went to South America, around 3 month. I needed to recharge my batteries.
I was going to record a rap album, I mean a classic rap form album.
on MigOne's beat. He 's the beat maker who's composed the tracks for the Starflam's albums. I'm working with him since day one.
I met some friends, the have a band called Sudakaya.
A band mixing urban music sounds with ska, cumbia, salsa, reggae...they are great!
I knew them in the beginning and now the are the bomb! First, we wanted to do one song and at the end they were playing on every track.
Playing on Mig's beat, playing percusions, horns...
that gave the project a new direction.
Great thing was that everything linked up very quickly, very spontaneously.
Immediately the magic was in the music!
I think people can feel that, in the music you can feel this kind of magic
when musicians come and play with you, playing with their heart, with their soul
and want to do something cool with you...
MI TIERRA
-And you have filmed a video... -In fact I've filmed 3 videos... when I move
I don't loose my time... I 've recorded in studio, I've been making 3 videos, I've been on tour in a few cities (with Sudakaya)
So I was pretty busy... and the first video is called Mi Tierra
you can find this video on my YTchannel or in www.kaer.be
This first video is along side with Sudakaya, it's a reggae mood track. It's in Spanish.
This videos was shot in different places, like the Andes, the Ecuadorian coast, the Sierra
It's a nice journey trip , I think that describes pretty well the album, I mean this traveling around mood.
-If you wanna know who's behind the camera, meet him in Kaer's Versatil shows!
I hope to see you soon, here at the Francofolies or anywhere else. See you! Kaer Versatil!
