david patten ngo heidi's jackson dot com over the weekend we had some incredible commentary from republican senate nominee tied eighteen who's been in missouri running against senator claire mccabe's kal he came up with this idea that listen there's two types of *** there's legitimate *** and there's against bites definition illegitimate rate now if in cases of legitimate *** uh... that the body reacted very differently in other words when there has been illegitimate rate are real *** so to speak louis the body kind of the well woman's body shots down and it just doesn't get pregnant it knows lewis whether this is a legitimate or illegitimate *** and knows whether that woman should get pregnant or not is is that exactly what's going on what let's play it let's play and see exactly what todd aitken had to say this has got to be one of the most outrageous clips again we seem to be making new highs regularly with these clips sulking so if he should abortion could be considered a case of saved of tubal pregnancy or something like that with an accusatory wouldn't really be legal or not well you know a good of people was one of try and make that is one of those things or how to get how do you slice this particularly tough sort of epochal questioned it seems to be first of all from what i understand from doctors that's really where if it's a legitimate *** uh... the female body has ways to try to shut the whole thing down let's assume that maybe that didn't work or something you know i think there should be some punishment but the punishment ought to be in the *** and and not attacking the child right then you get what you think about what he said he heard anything like that that is uh... it's it really is the body knows what it is being *** and it will just quote shut the whole thing down let's talk to a doctor who agrees with that i'd try to find what i could if you know of a doctor that they can explain that to us please i would love to speak to him i'm willing to bet that doctor there would have across around his neck so uh... sometimes the body will shut down the whole thing sometimes it'll just a worry boot they won't always do a full shutdown as you know luis sometimes the computer needs to be restarted sometimes need a full shut that will just turn off the valve african uh... you know only to ring the bell on and when you actually want to have a baby the body is a series of to state you can just back your truck up onto and dump some fun and dump stuff on and if it's legitimate *** ill shut the whole thing down if we were an advanced society a comment like tiny cans would make it so that no one votes for unfortunately well because people are still gonna vote for payment on what is this a abid abouts about our society that that type of comment doesn't just immediately disqualified even from running well it tells you that weren't a place where people use these types of things um... q identify with the candidate although in this election i don't think that this is gonna change someone's mind either either way i think people in a vote based on economic issues whether they're voting against her for their interests are not going to have these things in mind what do you think they were there to talk to people who are going to vote for him again one of them is a person who agrees with what he just said and who will be with what it ever he sets up any time the other person is someone who knows nothing about what he says and doesn't pay attention to it and as voting for for the person with the arnett yet i have a feeling the only legitimate *** untidy cans minded would be if it was his own daughter or his wife i think that that's the rule of let's talk about what would really for him be a legitimate rate it would be one of the family members involved in as as often as the case of these guys perhaps uh... for a logical that the logical thing now would be to hear from him a description of a legitimate *** anant illegitimate one that would be really fascinating to have him just define the terms for us yeah and i think you might struggle with that but uh... i'm sure what every comes up with it will be answered at least he's admitting that legitimate *** is wrong maybe that's that's uh... you know if we want to grasp at straws for at least something to look at with this guy he's at least saying that legitimate *** is wrong illegitimate rate maybe is ok fine we have to give them that but at least the legitimate *** is wrong so there's a chance that he's using human being na so you're saying it's beyond my comprehension that someone can be selling the if you think he's a victim of legitimate intelligence or kill a chicken that intelligence uh... i think there's no intelligence soldier real or or or fake widget or they would do that it's not even so much that this right wing social conservative ideology is shortsighted useless are counterproductive it's just stupid i mean what his tiny kentucky about it's it doesn't there's no way to sugar coat it we have to call the through what it is i really hope my last autumn this is that really hope that mainstream media does not do a false equivalency hack job on this where they say on the one hand tadi kan on some of his supporters say that there's legitimate raping a legitimate *** well on the other hand some people don't agree you know the false every act every story had a good both sides eventbrite i really hope this doesn't turn into that may have been saying here we'll see speaking of the incredibly negative effect that abortion a bands can have on people the mother of a pregnant leukemia patient who died after her chemotherapy was delayed why because of the entire abortion lies in the dominican republic is accusing doctors have not putting her daughter's health first this is incredible lewis is a sixteen year old whose story attracted worldwide attention because she had to wait for chemotherapy because dominican republic has eight vary strict absolutely nothing that could terminate the pregnancy and the chemotherapy treatment that she required i had the chance of terminating a pregnancy okay twenty days after she was admitted to the hospital she finally started receiving that treatment which was much delayed because of this controversy she died friday she did not respond particularly well she ended up miscarrying the child anyway which is just so horribly sad her body rejected a blood transfusion again didn't respond to the chemotherapy and her condition worsened and she ended up passing away uh... this is renewing the debate over abortion in the dominican republic and some lawmakers are saying that officials have to reconsider this band because look at what it leads yet another case where so-called pro-life doesn't lead to more lives and i know this is an example that uh... that the right war will not want to milk at or will dismiss they'll say well it wasn't too soon to say what are the chances you know and i'll save that for the american republic this has nothing to do with the american abortion debate it does it does because it's yet another example of how this kind of dogmatic pie in the sky ideology doesn't filtered down into the real decisions that are being made into the real consequences of this while it may be at at that you know the details may differ from what happens in the united states the reality is that it's a perfectly relevant uh... allegory i think that you think the todd i mean we're going to hear that it's not relevant you know you get here and he think that will prevent people from even talking about it use the right has an interest in this not even being discussed and they have their tended to sort of slip under the radar it's it's it's shocking and again pro-life what's pro-life about what happened here two deaths yet one of the craziest things about all this is and that you half of the politicians who were trying to ban abortions everywhere are just doing it because they want to get reelected not because they actually care about any of that that i don't know i would i mean you know there's the there's the religious conservatives who certainly i think are doing it more because it is religious upbringing there may be some we're going in for reelection in either case it's it's troubling also troubling is that paul ryan sponsored a bill that would allow *** potentially to stop their victim from having an abortion if they become pregnant if paul ryan had his way theoretically a *** would be able to sue his victim in order to prevent her from having anagram at an abortion which is incredible this is paul ryan sanctity of human life act which says very clearly the life of each human being begins with fertilization cloning or functional equivalent irrespective of sex health function or disability defect stage of development for a condition of pendency at which time every human being should have all the legal and constitutional attributes and privileges of person good it also goes on to say the congress affirms that the congress each state the district of columbia and all u_s_ territories have the authority to protect lives of all human beings residing in its respective jurisdiction this actually means that states would have the right to ban all abortions with no exceptions for *** *** or the life of the mother further in those states before woman was *** and wanted to have an abortion in another state her *** could theoretically file a lawsuit to stop the abortion uh... and mother jones is kevin drum did a whole report on this that you can read he suspects that the *** would probably wind pointing out that if the sanctity of life act of human life act became law it would have like we made number one forms of i_v_f_ the legal and since mitt romney's two newest adorable grand babies are the products of i_v_f_ and mister emissary that mother ryan's big idea could turn into lawsuits by the *** and it could turn romney's kids who had i_v_f_ into criminals got to be an awkward out lots of all hanging out there during the campaign do you know we don't talk about them with you know bring that up now i dont it's funny because the it seems they don't talk about the budget either first romney saying it's very similar then saying that his budget is actually at something then saying you know what we actually really haven't compared them yet and don't talk about their budget and what they intend to do but uh... much like uh... like anyone running they they don't actually discuss numbers spend figures they just they just say what we're gonna do this in this e-mail it'll help you of course there the westin unless you're on the top one percent that problem right uh... so very very disturbing stuff from paul ryan again more evidence that makes me question why even want one that would vote for this guy i just don't get it it it's mindboggling monday time for book recommendations i've been getting co awesome feedback lewis about the book recommendations people just you know i love hearing recommendations from a person because i just feel like there's so many books out there how do you know what to read it's great to hear from never asked me for a book recrimination will because you told me don't read now that's right yeah spoke in my book with gary altman is that right yes okay i said to them you know you really should read the book and a lot of people including productive e director of the time didn't like the movie right uh... it's not been in like ages didn't understand it right okay that was also a common complaint that the story was kind of model i want to recommend wholeheartedly this is actually one of my favorite religions the entire tinker tailor trilogy by john my correct so it's three books its finger taylor soldiers by number two is the honorable schoolboy and number three smileys people i have to tell you it's one of the most epic sagas of uh... uh... espionage and of worldwide intrigue that i've read it's really one of my favorite trilogy is tinker tailor soldier spies fantastic all three of them are really really good whether you saw the movie you're not especially if you didn't like the movie read at least the first book i would say all three fantastic always on eight no matter what else i read i read set phrases about oh bomb it is so bombing that i'm sure yet socialist communist all that stuff bright so just want to give you a quick talking point here when your conservative friends talk to you about how president of bomb a has been terrible for the economy he's about economic president they talk about all the things that would be bad mention to them or wait a second the stock market is near an all-time high corporate profits are at all-time highs what about that now they'll probably come back at you and say yeah but there's no job i'm unemployed my friends are unemployed well then you know what you say say it incredible you've just proven that the trickle-down theory of economics simply does not work the stock market's doing great corporate profits are doing great and you're still saying that there's too much unemployment you've just proven that those same policies are going to vote for if you vote for romney have already been proven not to work sophia we are doing well does not mean a thing for for you and me does it very clearly now of course i'm sure they would come up with some kind of accreditation or just be very confused or their heads would explode it wouldn't compute iodide that you please try to present some fact it is it is an interesting uh... tactic what's in those mit romney taxes that could be so damaging we've been talking for awhile now about at this point mit romney is not just being stubborn but not releasing his tax returns he clearly has calculated that whatever is in there would be more damaging than the negative affect of not releasing i think we've all agreed on that i hit i'm going to propose something which i've been thinking about for a while and over the weekend steve baldwin who's the former republican whip of the california state assembly also is saying here's the theory what would show up in romney's tax returns bear with me here that would be so damaging way more damaging in finding out that he didn't really pay that much in income taxes stare cycle staring cycle is the medical waste disposal company that mit romney through bain capital invested a lot of money and that in part makes money from the disposal of aborted fetuses now at some point we know that mitt romney's name was on the stockings so one of two things may be in mit romney's tax returns if he got rid of those share if you got red of that interest in stay recycle that would show up on the tax returns as a huge amount because of all the shares that you know other at alternative is he still and owner in in those shares and he's making a lot of money off of the ownership of stay recycle it would be but let's be honest mainstream media has pushed the stairs cycle story basically under the rug i don't know why is it because they think it would be seen as partisan to simply report on the inherent double standard of hypocrisy that mitt romney has as a so-called pro-lifer who is making tons of money from a company that makes money disposing of aborted fetuses oryza maturity on behalf of the mainstream media to actually try and cover important issues instead of trying to talk about uh... mitt romney's uh... hypocrisy right what is the question i don't know with the answers case in point the stair cycle story has not made a big it's still there we're still talking about it all other alternative media talking about it you have to assume in this body of evidence check the boston globe they continue to report that mit romney well beyond the february nineteen ninety nine supposedly timing continued to control andree profits from stairs cycle way after that supposedly time with this began urging course notes on what do you think might be through your mind you know make something uh... yeah i think that is that this be huge and that like you said i think that romney's campaign has calculated this and i guess they just assume that they're better off not even going there and keeping keeping the mystery in it absolutely i mean listen president obama was pounded for the long form the short form the chicken form bertha division he produced them he produced everything he was asked to produce mit romney won't even die bold some simple tax forms imagine how he's going to lie in his pockets if he gets four years in office louis there is no there is no covering the fact this is simply you just simply weighing how much something warmer you obviously the campaign is decided by the time said that it will hurt you more to release them the generous to me either way there's gonna be criticism it's also funny that mit romney is saying he wasn't on the board at the time he was an around when his company's shipped the jobs overseas he resigned from the company retroactively you could add video of mit romney physically signing the papers to purchase este recycle and he was still try to retroactively edit himself out of the room in the video i mean you can get you could do the present any evidence that he he wasn't happy to bring together with technology these days you put anyone in his place too rage against the machine guitarist tom morello of smackdown paul ryan's compliment paul ryan said that rage against the machine is one of his favorite bands more for the music than the lyrics understandably so very liberal bent tommorow wrote this great editorial in rolling stone where he went back out and he said i wonder what ryan's favorite rage saga is is it the one where we condemn the genocide of native americans the one lambasting american imperialism are covered after police or that the one where we call on the people to see is the means of production so many excellent choices to jam out to a young republican meetings dr tomoro is great yeah uh... that he goes on don't mistake me i clearly see that ryan has a whole lot of rage and in a rigid as women a rage against immigrants are raging as workers a rage against gays against the poor against the environment basically the one thing is not raging against is the privileged elite he's groveling in front of the campaign contributions so harshly brilliantly written left he goes on to say that that the entire idea of rage against the machine is predicated upon opposing everything paul ryan represents maybe he'll fill guantanamo bay with the corporate criminals that are funding his campaign and torture them with rage music twenty four seven that's one possibility but i'm not betting on it i agree i don't see that is like now i think you will continue to uh... grovel in front of the privilege to retain and make sure they maintain their wealth this is painting a picture though because ryan paul ryan seems to understand about as much about rage against the machine as he does about economic so i'm actually starting to see the pattern yeah it does the but that's not surprising is that uh... later of course paul ryan will dispute he was ever a fan of rage against the machine just like a sudden one-eighty about high in rent the teacher who nobody will exempt yeah you don't have a lot of he said he wasn't when you're running alongside mit romney you've got to do one eighties on on stuff just to keep up mirsad because there's so many one eighty seven email it's it's it's pretty much constant he really doesn't even move now he's just okay i got a voicemail you know how we covered this story about mit romney can identify a chocolate doughnut i got a voicemail about it and honestly if i can tell whether the voicemail is a joker for really the beginning i thought that it was a joke as i listen to it talking out for a week about these uh... insider trading they're kind of being colloquial e and may be legally called that appalled ryan may uh... may have uh... participated in this all started related to a meeting in september of two thousand eight where he met with then treasury secretary hank paulson ben bernanke he was there and there's some question as to the timing of certain cell uh... sell-off of bank stocks that he did relative to this meeting where he was the warned about for lack of a better term the impending doom of of some of the big banks now we've seen conservatives quickly come back with kind of too arguments number one that this was legal at the time because the stock act had not been passed if it was so-called insider trading and number two that because of the time that the meeting took place and the time that the markets are open that it's not even really possible for him to have executed the trades he's accused of having done what started the beginning give us the facts as we know them well the fact that we know them aren't that long ryan was required as a member of congress c issue and disclosure uh... forming in two thousand nine stating uh... giving information on factory that he'd made during the previous year and it turns out that on september eighteenth to dominate the day he mentions he made trick certain trade that looks suspicious he needs trade uh... out big banks dot the soul of citigroup wachovia j p morgan chase and he purchased coleman back now paul ryan had done straying in other months during that year but the september eighth straight eighteen strains are actually different from his usual pattern uh... and and said that raises suspicion of a blogger everett the richmond ur blog military regatta disclosure document then kindly arrange raised the question interns and the timing of the meeting i'm that's a great team in and meeting took place after the close of market at four p_m_ that is true however the cloth for the meeting came in earlier in the afternoon mean people let the leave by three p m had spoken to see them briefly on the phone she had been apprised of what the subject of the meeting was going to be about uh... and they they discussed it and she sends out a call to congressional leadership uh... telling them that need to take place though uh... paul ryan had plenty of time to call his stockbroker or texas broker before the close of market four p_m_ and even if he didn't do that there's all this into being and after-hours trading in several things in that allow people to trade after hours then uh... the idea that he wouldn't use the information to make the trade that day uh... strikes me as ludicrous and also the other thing would be let's say we believe that it's it's an incredible coincidence is the coincidence of coincidences that simply hours before hearing about this information he did exactly would any logical person would do once given that information net exactly right and we also have to remember that paul ryan republican and the white house uh... you know with that uh... and a republican administration at the time that he may well have found out about this uh... information well before noon people of the uh... we can prove that the defense byerly possible that he did uh... so the the timing plane uh... really doesn't blow up insurance illegality their there is a a lot of confusion on this issue and it's not surprising because in during the time that paul ryan maybe street on september eighteenth the legality of the with contested that'd tuesday it would really depend on the giants to determine whether such actions at that time would be considered insider trading were not and activists true that members of congress were typically not prosecuted for such action now that he's been coming to question since the financial crisis and as you pointed out of violent crime legislation in the spring uh... this year stating that det tentatively that kind of action is in absolutely illegal so bit did legality of the time would be contested issue paul ryan was not ah... whose theater prosecuted for it and norm or other members of congress but we can certainly say that it is a traveling ethical violation for a member of the trusted public official to be considering his stock portfolio on it today when his country was in peril uh... if he does not speak well to the character of the man and you know we're finding out of the and at the days go on you know it paul brian is that too batik ticket of ryan in romney secretly kind of a private equity take it we just found out that ryan rother works forget bain capital at one time i may not be dot if you really do you think about the bottom line for themself uh... at at the expense that at least in this case is leaking fee and landed on a reconciliation as a vice presidential candidate this is a serious issue yet it's but fascinating to me when that so many of these discussions get into well it wasn't illegal at the time it just may have been unethical and then it's like so many people on the right side well i think it was an illegal it was only unethical i'm okay with that there is almost like when you when you create that discussion there's almost like an implicit acceptance of something that it may be unethical but by the letter of the law it was legal and therefore should not be held against him when this is a guy who potentially is is a heartbeat away from being the president of the united states are you happy with just following the letter of the law or do you want someone ethical that conversations out the window *** cackling rights and hopefully we would want someone who is arguably the pregnancy uh... seat cbm bob epochal your breaches of this kind but my big many people as being that the ryan ronnie to get a bit seagate uh... uh... buy-in for the one percent uh... ryan is not as wealthy as uh... as as ronnie of course but he added he he is a man of considerable means his wife inherited and anna money to make her and millionaires that leave you to get from family members uh... that you know the the ryan family values a very very clear what they value and he can't his brother again is that is a private equity guy not so there's a real question about whether these are the kinds of people that it is their date be needed ordinary americans that they're on the campaign is trying to paint ball ryan and the man of the people but i'm not sure that that's going to stick in the face that uh... you know the fact that are coming to light at this insider trading kidney there and also want to point out that while the legality of insider trading wave at again contested for members of congress is not really very say that it was completely legal began began it would have depended on the jacks uh... by it it with definitely illegal for members of the executive branch there has been this strange uh... at miscarriage of justice whereby one branch of government is melts he has been traditionally held steven stricter uh... need stricter rules than another and that and by finding that line in the spring with uh... meant to address that discrepancy members of congress now for a long time considered it you know sort sort of their own therein herein right to be able to do this it was a study that came out in two thousand four several researchers prominent researchers left and have out members of the senate did in their stock portfolios from nineteen ninety three nineteen ninety eight and they found that senators uh... beat the market by twelve percent on average per year and just to put that in perspective corporate insider like warren office uh... doesn't beat the market by more than five percentage point the year so that if they really really troubling number and by the way out yet but the general public during that time period underperformed on their stock portfolios by one point four percent there's something had been going on for a long time time it outrages uh... the fact that obama even had to put this into a lot uh... in the spring to make it had been a billion legal is is traveling in other
