With my PhD I want to improve the quality of education
for children in the world.
You cannot improve student learning without focusing on the
teachers and thats how my research could help improve
teacher learning and hence could improve student learning.
I have a bachelor degree in education,
specialising in teaching English as a foreign language
from Vietnam National University in Hanoi.
And I have a master of education from the University of Melbourne.
I chose to do my PhD at the University of Melbourne
because it's supportive and a secure environment for me
as a PhD student and also an international student.
My principal supervisor is Dr. Russell Cross
and I really respect and enjoy his supervision.
My PhD is focusing on an alternative model
of teacher placement.
Traditionally speaking only one teacher,
teaches one class at a time.
In my study I'm looking at paired placement in which
two teachers co-teach one class at a time.
This model is still new to the world and there are still
many questions to be answered and thats why my research fits in.
The research culture at the University of Melbourne
has been wonderful.
I have had the chance to attend a lot of workshops, seminars,
academic events that help me connect with other researchers.
I find that very inspiring.
