Session 16, checking GIS outputs
Run the ILWIS Program by Right-Click, Open
We want to check the hypsometry, slope and aspect output maps
Open the hypsometry map
In this map the elevation is classify 100m by 100 m
Add the "Topo" map (Segment map topo)
if you want the output map to be 100m by 100m,
type " *00.000000 " the number of zeros (decimal figures) should be the same as
what is written in the "Stretch" so you can copy the decimal zeros and paste it here
Double Click on the Topo and Tick single color and choose black
If you remember, we set the significant figure to 0.0001, when we were creating the domain
We check to see how much interpolation error we had
We review it together again: "Right click on Topo -> Display Options"
" *00.0000” means every figure which has two zero in front
(which shows 100m elevation) and 4 decimal number that
we had entered in the domain of the topography map
We set in to single black color in order to be checked more easily
We check the interpolation error
It’s acceptable
For checking the aspect output map, Right click and open it
Check the layers which are beside each other
This is "North-Eeast" and this one is "North-West"
If we add “River_code”
Increase the river line width to be seen more easily
I show the aspect in gray scale to see the rivers better
The river should be in Thalweg
It’s correct
Check the slope output whit yoursel
