People ask me, "why did you come to the States to study music because -- instead of going to Europe?"
I didn't want to limit my repertoire to be just one channel or just one kind of
music. I want to study, of course ,the principal was Italian music, but also
French, German, and I also wanted to study Russian operas so Juilliard was the perfect
place because, you know, there are so many people who really can teach the style of
the music, and this type of language. Juilliard is right next to the Metropolitan
Opera, and that's one of the biggest advantages, that because, you know, also
we also have teachers who work in the Metropolitan Opera, and you share a certain, I don't know,
same kind of atmosphere, same kind of, like, professional reasons that you can learn from
those people and that's just wonderful.
