Hello there! My name is Georgia and my channel is BeautyInsideArt.
My channel includes beauty, art drawing and painting,
and random vlogs. I'm here at Greenflams community channel to
tell you how to make a good makeup channel. First of all, if you already have a makeup
tutorial channel that seems not to be working,
you may be wondering why things are going at a slow pace.
Well, of course we all know all the biggest makeup channels on YouTube such as Michelle
Phan, but did you know that not all of them are
really as good? Being so popular does not mean they're all
so great. And if you don't get enough views yet,
it does not mean that you're doing something wrong.
Before you start, you'll need to spend a little bit.
First you will get a decent, but not necessarily expensive camcorder.
We recommend a portable HD camera which usually costs around a hundred or two.
As your channel grows, you may be able to afford higher-end cameras,
but for now any decent quality camcorder will do.
Secondly, get a nice makeup kit. Not an expensive one,
but the one you would get for yourself for a regular price.
First thing you should ask yourself before getting a makeup kit is,
--What kind of videos am I actually going to make?--
Some people make tutorials for comedic purposes, some make animal tutorials,
and others do celebrity makeup. So the kit you'll get may depend on the type
of makeup you're really gong to make.
We recommend you to do different and all possible kinds
so that you'll attract more people. You should get a makeup kit that costs around
fifty to seventy dollars. Some people usually sign up for free samples,
and that's really an awesome idea since you'll be using your makeup solely for online TV,
and you'll be washing them off almost all the time.
Third thing you should do is find a nice place for recording.
We recommend facing the window for a better lighting;
if you only have one lamp in your room, we recommend getting a flourescent lamp.
This increases picture quality-- and of course it is not bad to get real movie lighting equipment,
but that's if you can afford it at this time.. Or else save that for the future.
New, record sessions of your makeup; it would be best to have an introductory clip
which we know as "intro." Use your logo or something that would give
them memory and symbol of your work. Find a royalty-free background music or create
one for your channel; this would give more quality to your productions.
be sure to have a Facebook page; share your videos across the web,
and advertise them once in a while. We recommend Facebook Ads or Google AdWords,
which has helped a lot of successful channels with a little cost.
Remember to give a shout out to people who comment your videos once in a while;
comment their videos also; try to watch other makeup videos,
and connect with other video creators by commenting their videos and
subscribing to channels you like. This is all we have for those of you who are
starting a makeup channel, and we may come up with a super-guide in the
future. If you have any questions, make sure to post
them as comments to this video and we will get back to you.
