“There is an element of our engagement that
really is exciting and path breaking.”
“When you come to Madison, you come to a place
where the answer is rarely NO.”
“The Scholarship that I received
was the reason I went to JMU.”
“ The reason that I give financially to Madison
is because it gave so much to me.”
“ Our commitment to the school will not
only be today, tomorrow, but into the future.”
“ We create an environment that…(Multiple speakers Overlapping).”
No Matter how exciting our vision might be
for the future, no matter what plans I might
lay out as a president, I understand and I think
we all understand that we can only be successful
going forward if we work together as a community.
The great strength of this university is its people.
The faculty, the staff, the students, and
the alumni are people who care about and
support the university we all need to come
together if we’re going to be successful in
thinking about our hopes and dreams for the future.
So as we set forth a vision, it’s important
to have an inclusive process, and I feel as a leader
that it’s important for me to listen, to hear
those different voices and to make sure that
people feel apart of the future.
That they all understand and recognize that
this is something we’re going to do together.
As we set out our hopes and dreams and priorities
for the future all of us will have a role to
play in order for us to be successful.
