0:00:07.190,0:00:11.260 Hi these is Julie from Beadaholique.com and
today I want to show you how to cut
0:00:11.260,0:00:13.989 LillyPilly aluminum blanks and sheets.
0:00:13.989,0:00:17.579 This is what they are. You can also cut the
blanks with the same technique.
0:00:17.579,0:00:22.129 So these are nice pretty substantial
heavy aluminum sheets with wonderful
0:00:22.129,0:00:23.460 patterns on them
0:00:23.460,0:00:25.630 and there's the solid color on the back.
0:00:25.630,0:00:29.619 So you can just let your imagination flow
on how do to use these.
0:00:29.619,0:00:32.890 You're probably going to not use the entire
sheet you're going to want to cut them down
0:00:32.890,0:00:34.900 if your making jewelry.
0:00:34.900,0:00:39.920 So the way you do that is very very easy.
First you don some safety glasses because you
0:00:39.920,0:00:41.350 are cutting metal.
0:00:41.350,0:00:42.910 So you want to make sure you
0:00:42.910,0:00:45.430 take every precaution necessary.
0:00:45.430,0:00:49.610 What you're going to want to use is a
metal sheer. I have this one here. It locks
0:00:49.610,0:00:52.040 in place when your storing it
0:00:52.040,0:00:54.460 like so. To unlock it
0:00:54.460,0:00:56.330 just go like that
0:00:56.330,0:00:57.720 you see it opens up.
0:00:57.720,0:01:02.170 This particular set of shears will cut
up to twenty gauge metal. The blanks
0:01:02.170,0:01:04.979 that were using and the sheets are going to
be twenty two gauge.
0:01:04.979,0:01:07.860 So they're gonna cut with no problem.
0:01:07.860,0:01:10.530 I'm going to show you exactly how easy this
is.
0:01:10.530,0:01:14.890 Just line up your basically scissors
where you want them to be
0:01:14.890,0:01:17.530 but you're going to using these which
are for metal
0:01:17.530,0:01:22.490 and just cut. I'm not using much
pressure here.
0:01:22.490,0:01:24.189 It just cuts through
0:01:24.189,0:01:28.960 just like that. There you go.
0:01:28.960,0:01:33.020 Now you might have a little bit of curling
on the end when you do that. You'll see it's not
0:01:33.020,0:01:34.020 quite flat
0:01:34.020,0:01:38.709 you can just take rubber mallet and a bench
block and hammer that down so it's flat again.
0:01:38.709,0:01:42.930 You also might want to take a diamond file
and file down any rough edges.
0:01:42.930,0:01:47.720 Now I brought over a sharpie marker here
because I want to show you what else you can do/
0:01:47.720,0:01:51.000 So if you have a specific size you want
to cut
0:01:51.000,0:01:53.270 you can go ahead
0:01:53.270,0:02:00.270 draw it on the back of your sheet.
0:02:04.490,0:02:11.490 Cut out your shape.
0:02:15.930,0:02:19.879 If you don't want that line to show
on the back of all these aluminum sheets
0:02:19.879,0:02:21.979 there's a protective little backing
0:02:21.979,0:02:25.389 and you can just peel that off so you won't
have that marker line.
0:02:25.389,0:02:32.389 You can also cut the LillyPilly
aluminum blanks the same way.
0:02:34.089,0:02:38.549 You see how easy it is to cut them.
0:02:38.549,0:02:42.779 That is all there is to cutting LillyPilly
aluminum sheets aluminum and
0:02:42.779,0:02:43.369 blanks.
