Firstly, insert 4 AA batteries as shown.
Insert a compact flash memory card to record audio onto.
Push the card firmly into the slot and close the cover.
Plug your microphone in using an XLR cable.
Check battery in microphone by moving switch halfway. Red light means you have power.
To turn the microphone on, move the switch fully to the ON position.
Plug in headphones as shown.
Adjust the volume using the dial on the side.
The power switch will turn the device on and off.
Ensure the correct settings are selected.
Use the menu edit button to select presets.
Always use Preset 1, which will record your audio as a 48k mono WAV file.
Check your levels by putting the Marantz into recording mode by pressing the record/pause button.
Use the meter on the end to check the level.
Keep your level lighting up the meter’s green lights.
Adjust the level using the black dial
You're ready to record.
To start recording, press the RECORD button once
To stop recording press the STOP button.
The display will show you the available recording time and the last track number you recorded
If you start to record again the Marantz will start a new track
It will not record over the material that you have already recorded
To play your material back, select the track you want to listen to. Then press PLAY.
To stop it, press the STOP button once
Remove your memory card from the Marantz by pressing the button to eject it.
Plug a memory card reader into the USB port of your computer or laptop
Insert the Compact Flash Memory card into the reader
A dialogue box should then appear on your screen
To transfer files to your computer, select the OPEN FOLDER TO VIEW FILES option and click OK
A list of the files on your memory card should then appear on the screen
Select the files you want to transfer. If you want all the files, you can SELECT ALL.
Next go to EDIT, then COPY
You now need to find the folder to save the files to. Open this folder.
If you then go to EDIT, then PASTE, your clips will appear in your folder.
