hi, so this is a video response to OhSnapGonzo;s challenge for her 1,000 subbies. This is my
evolution of scrapbooking, so when I first stated in about 2011. I was not a "Scrapbooker""
scrapbooker. I made a couple of mini albums. The first one I made. I made this for my nephew.
As you can see it's well loved. It's only from 2011 and I didn't make it with the idea
that he was going to love it as much. So he wasn't going to open, I didn't think about
making sure that everything was archival, would stick better. So I am going to have
to fix it for him. He was already saying that he was sad that it was falling apart. So I
used very little pattern paper, I used my Cricut a lot so all the cuts are Cricut cuts.
Stickles some ribbon and a little journaling. I used embossing folders, and this is where
it fell apart. Just regular four by six pictures that I printed off on white cardstock on my
computer .So it's probably not photo safe, it probably will disintegrate. It's already
loosing color on the side. So this really is not my,.. it's my first attempt, but he
loved it of course because he was three, or four, and he loves anything that him and Papa
do, so It's just very simple, things that he would enjoy. and at the time I thought
that this was the most wonderful thing, and everyone loved it. More Cricut cuts, and more
and then I bound it in the back. I used the mini mystory. So this is my first attempt.
Of course he loves it. So 8th birthday I made him another mini album;. This is an eight
by eight and there is def. a change in the style. I learned how to use Thickers and number
stickers, layer paper, have some continuity. This collection is the Chillingworth Manor
by Echo Park. So I tried to use same collection so it all looked like it fit. I started using
more embellishments. Some gems, things of that nature. I didn't do any journaling in
this, because it's his book and his memories. Maybe one day he will want to do it. Some
simple titles, things like that. That was this years book. I started doing twelve by
twelve pages this past year and I got a lot of inspiration from Shimelle Laine and a lot
of like Wilna and other youtubers. So embellishment clusters, and mists, splattering. More Thickers,
photo mats, which I can't cut a photo mat straight to save my life, so nothing is ever
straight. Having boarder, most of my pages have a boarder, That's this one. This one
is by far my favorite and at this point, this is what my style is. I'm learning more about
color, and layering pieces, and other things of that nature so that is my style so far.
I'm not going to say that it wont change, I'm not going to say that I didn't like what
I did before. So, I don't know if necessarily evolution is a bad thing. I might choose to
go with very clean papers and not so many pattern papers later, but right now this is
where I'm at and this is what I like. So thank you!
