The Genre of our Piece was Psychological Mystery and I really think that came through using different conventions and elements.
We tried Handwritten Font, but the Mac didn't configure the Greek Symbols and it became pixelated. Instead, we used a Classic Font.
During the opening, you can't see the main character's face completely until the end. This makes you question why she is being hidden.
We filmed at Kilve, as the surroundings gave us a sense of isolation and mystery, tieing with the story and the character.
The voiceover includes many Narrative Hooks and it works well with the genre, making you wonder about her personality and her past.
The Music at the beginning is mystical and natural, which goes significantly with the scenic view shots.
As we zoom in on the character, the camera angle is slightly tilted. This makes it look as if something is out of the ordinary.
We use a Scream sound effect three times, to make you wonder who it was and why. It also added tension and action to the opening.
The music change gives a sense of urgency and curiousity, adding a slight climatic build.
Match on Action was essential as it made the story as real as possible. We used close-ups frequently to keep the audience attracted.
We used a cut away in the reeds of the tops, so you could how tall and obscurable the plants were. How people are easily lost.
The end of the opening is clever, as we use a cliffhanger to go with the genre and keeps you wanting to find out what happens in the film next.
