Business people are ALWAYS trying to persuade each other.
Maybe it’s a supervisor trying to persuade workers to like a new company policy.
Maybe it is a sales person trying to persuade a customer to purchase a service or product.
Maybe it is just a person asking a co-worker to support his idea.
No ,matter what the desired action, when trying to persuade it is important to follow an indirect
sequence in your message.
First, get the receiver's attention. Be creative!
Next, introduce the product, the service, or the idea, and, most importantly, build interest in it.
Look at it from the receiver's perspective.
Next, be sure to create desire by presenting convincing evidence of the value of the product,
service, or idea. Sell the value by focusing on how it will benefit the receiver.
Finally, encourage action. Tell the reader what you want him to do.
All of these steps will create an effective persuasive message.
