My name is Aina Lala Hariniaina Langer,
and I'm 23 years old.
What I love about karate is,
it constantly pushes me to be better.
It's not just about kicking in your opponent's face.
I was invited to join the French Junior National Team.
But their competitions were always on Sunday,
and going to church was very important to me.
I realized the choice I had to make
would impact the rest of my life.
I thought long and hard about it.
And even though I really wanted to train
with the national team, it was more important
to follow what I knew, for me, was the right thing to do.
So that's why I decided to stay here in Grenoble.
It's a good thing, too, because that's where I met my husband.
I have a good husband. Look at him cook.
The decision to stop karate on Sunday was difficult.
Sometimes you know you're making the right choice
even if you can't explain it.
I have a feeling of peace knowing I'm being true to myself,
and ultimately, that's enough for me.
I always wanted to be a corporate attorney,
so I went to school and earned a law degree
and a degree in applied foreign languages.
This is the Bible for lawyers and the Bible for linguists.
My husband and I are expecting a baby boy.
We're due in January.
We had a sonogram, and
in the place where you can tell if it's a boy or girl,
we saw something and said, "It's a boy!"
Wow, even better!
Even better?
Yeah, 'cause I can teach him tae kwon do.
No, karate.
A boy, like his dad.
How do I spell Aina Lala Hariniaina?
Aina Lala Hariniaina
Aina Lala Haria
Oh, I forgot ...
Aina Lala Har
I hope I'll be a good example to my baby.
It's easier to teach something
when you do it yourself.
I'm a karateka.
I have degrees in law and languages.
I'm a wife and soon-to-be mother. I'm so excited.
My name is Reine Lala Hariniaina Langer,
and I'm a Mormon.
