Roberto: Ciao Gabriele: Ciao
Roberto: Welcome back to our new review.
Roberto: Today we will drink the Hefe Weissbier Naturtrub by Paulaner!
Roberto: Top fermentation beer, its colour is hazy light amber, with golden and orange glints.
Roberto: it looks cloudy, carbonated, with a white persistent foam (copious and grainy).
Roberto: Leave a small amount of beer into the bottle in order to gather and mix left yeast in the bottom and finally pour it completely.
Gabriele: Yeasty aroma is very strong. Roberto: Yes, we could smell it as soon as we opened the bottle.
Roberto: Indeed...it looks very cloudy.
Roberto: A little spicy... Gabriele: Yes...but still yeast... Roberto: And still yeast...yes...it's true...
Roberto: Touch of bread...wheat...bread... Gabriele: And i'd still remind yeast...
Roberto: And...only at the end...in the background...just a bit of fruity... Gabriele: Covered by yeast at once... Roberto: eh...yeast tends to hide everything... Gabriele: the yeast is everywhere in this beer.
Roberto: About fruity aroma i'd say only banana...i can't feel any other fruits Gabriele: Maybe...a bit sourish as well...
Roberto: Let's drink it!
Roberto: At the very beginning i taste a clear flavor of bread...wheat.
Roberto: The flavor isn't as strong and intense as the aroma was... Gabriele: Yes...it fades quite soon..
Roberto: I can't detect any special strong flavor...besides the bready and fruity characters which are just a little more evident and delicate in mouth than on nose. By thee way it's still a bit sourish...
Roberto: Don't you think it is not "well-rounded"? Gabriele: Maybe...but i think it's a bit syrupy as well...i feel it's sourish on tongue...but as for me the yeast tends to cover all the rest.
Roberto: I keep drinking it...and as time passes, i think it's a bit "heavy" to drink.. Gabriele: Yes, i think so too...it is maybe too carbonated.
Roberto: The sourish character is constant throughout the whole drinking. Gabriele: Yes, i agree...and as beer warms up, spicy character gets stronger... Roberto: True... cloves most of all...
Roberto: The finish? Gabriele: Dry...clean...bitterish Roberto: Yes..light bitterish.. Gabriele: And slightly spicy... Roberto: Exactly..spicy...i was going to say the same.
Roberto: What about the aftertaste? Gabriele: yeasty...i can't detect any other particular flavor...
Roberto: What about pairings food? Gabriele: mmm...fish...some savory appetizers...some soups..
Roberto: I asked you this because i consider this beer not so easy to drink...it is not an "everyday" drink; that's why i think it's difficult to find some good pairing food. Gabriele: I agree, it's not so easy..
Roberto: We didn't say anything about the ABV of this beer: it's 5.5%. But it's absolutely imperceptible.
Roberto: Perfect...so...thank you to have followed us until now and see you for the next beer review! Gabriele: Ciao! Roberto: Ciao!
