Hi, I'm Laura from Young Writers Workshops.com and I'm going to talk about how to write a
greeting card. Now writing greeting cards is an interesting market because there are
a lot of greeting card publishers out there but there are, many of them have on staff
writers. So finding the publishers, the greeting card publishers who work with freelance authors
is the first step to writing a greeting card. Now you will probably find several lists on
line. You can use the writers market, which is a book that lists all of the places to
sell what you write, or I'm sure there are several ways that you could find it by Googling.
When you have identified a publisher that looks like they buy the types of greeting
card writing that you do, you might want to also follow up with a phone call just to make
sure that that information that you've found is still accurate. You, want to be sure to
follow their guidelines specifically when they ask for submissions from freelance writers,
follow the format exactly in which they ask you to submit the ideas. Another idea for
writing a greeting card is to self publish greeting cards. And you could, there are several
software packages out there that you can buy and use desktop publishing to create your
own greeting cards. In whatever form you choose to write your greeting card, you want to make
sure that it's, it flows well. Whatever you write is pleasant to read and sums up an idea.
One concrete, positive idea that will make people really want to send a card with that
message. So those are some ideas about how to write a greeting card.
