We are back again with "Revolution is on-going"
and we are honored to have in the studio "Amr Sobhy",
one of the founders of MorsiMeter.
We talked about it ever since the naming of the president
when the idea emerged, we thought we could give it sometime to move
-tell me after 70 days, did the meter move?
-Yes, it did move -Did it?
Thank God.
We already introduced MorsiMeter before but
Lets remind our audeince, what's it and how it started.
In the begining.. What's MorsiMeter?
It's an initative to document what's happening on ground
in the first 100 days of president electoral program. This is simple what it's.
To speak about how it started
How did we think of it
Lets consider 3 scenes.
First Scene: Safwat, one of the "Zabatak" crew
a kind of a group genius
He has a master degree in statistics
and he's a great intellect.
He was talking to Abbas saying:
How beautiful would it be if we had our own "obameter"!
That's it, they drank their tea and left. That's the first scene.
second scene: Abbas is talking to me saying
Amr, What do you think of that idea?
Third scene, me talking to Abbas saying "we are going live today".
- it was spontaneous
Yes, indeed.. eventhough
there were a lot of obstacles
We didn't plan it ahead or anything
Many people think that we were definitely planning it months ahead and have sort of bad intentions
because it was launched same day the president was named.
But that wasn't true.. we just started say.. two days.
before it and I was even outside Egypt.
-Well, it's perfectly okay. the president should be accountable since day one. What's the problem?
People have the perception .. oh, they started early, so they must be sort of opposition.
on contrary, meter means measuring both good and bad thing
As I told you this is all not true, it was very spontaneous. -Great.
but now.. we see in the background the main page
-Yes
We see 70 days passed from 100 days.
Promises in progress: 23 out of 61.
and promises kept: 3 out of 64.
This is today.. right?
Yes, it's today.
The degree of satisfaction is 49% as opposed to 51 unsatisfied.
Great, we simply mentioned some numbers
but the work behind must be massive
especially, people satisfaction.
This is a feature we just implemented yesterday
-Degree of people satisfaction
It's based on that not only we want to spot what's happening
which is important of course
but also for people to express themselves.
Lets say the file of cleanliness for example, and assume people don't feel progress
He goes to the website and say: I don't feel a progress. and I'm in this specific place.
Gharbya governerate, or Dakhalia..
or on the other side he says : I feel great progress and I see it on the ground
So, it's just a recently-baked feature
and we would love to spot what people think. So it goes both ways
What's happening and how do people perceive it, and so on.
