Do some lines from the play then in your American accent.
It's quite difficult because half of my lines contain swear words.
Go on. Go for it.
I don't want to do it! I feel all nervous now. You're putting me on the spot. Right,
we'll come back to this. We'll do it later.
What about other accents then?
Listen, my accent's ridiculous. I can't do anything useful. It takes me weeks to get
them under my belt. I can't do Irish. I can't do Scottish, but I can do kind of Jamaican
which is never going to help me. If you asked me to do it now, I'm not going to do it.
I'm absolutely asking you do to an accent. I can do an Indian accent. Again, it's not
going to help me. Uh, it's bizarre. But anyway, let's move on. Professional journalism.
Let's absolutely give this Jamaican accent a go.
Let's talk about something important, you know... What's going on in Russia? Let's talk
about that. Israel, Palestine. Come on.
Can you do any of those accents?
I can do a... No! Haha. ***. I want ***.
Let's talk about something proper. Come on...
Okay. We will come back to accents though. Think of your lines for the American one.
Alright. Have you ever considered a career in politics following this?
Definitely, definitely not. I'd rather die. I respect people that do it, and you know
there are some good ones out there and there's some less good ones as well. So, do what you
want, but no, I'd rather die.
Okay. Now having grown up in a very kind of showbiz family, kind of, not necessarily environment.
Your parents might not have necessarily brought it into the house, but young... You know what
goes on in Hollywood... Do you ever find yourself, kind of, swinging naked from wrecking balls,
dancing with...
Are you talking about Miley Cyrus?
God, I love Miley Cyrus. I was actually having a very similar conversation with someone this
morning. No, I didn't. You know, I don't really like LA. It's not really for me. I like going
there to do the work, but I don't think I could live there. Too many parties. I used
to like that in my early 20s, but now, I don't know. I'm getting boring.
You're getting old, Max.
I'm getting old, man. It's happening.
What do you make of the whole Miley Cyrus thing though?
Do you know what? Come on... She was a little, you know, teenage star Hannah Montana, and
now she's expressing herself. You know, less tongue maybe, but go ahead do it.
Brilliant.
Everyone's gotta do it. It's just unfortunately she has to do it in front of the entire world.
Well, that's true. That's true. Um, let's talk about some upcoming film projects for
you. You've got Posh, I believe. Yeah. That's the next thing for you.
We don't know when it's coming out. It's either March or it's going to be pushed back later.
Um, but it's really good. It's really exciting. Posh is Laura Wade's sort of slightly fictitious
take on the Bullingdon Club, a club at Oxford University attended by David Cameron, George
Osbourne, Boris Johnson. And it was a club that, among many other activities, you know,
they were famous for trashing every single restaurant they went to and then paid for
the damage in cash at the end of the evening just because they could and you know, just
chaos. So I think it's interesting that we're doing this film, which hopefully will shed
a bit of light on the fact that people who are now running the country and throwing kids
in jail for smashing shop windows in fact did the very same thing when they were at
their age. In fact, slightly older. Except they'd been afforded every privilege known
to man. Um, so I think hopefully it'll mean that a few more conversations about Bullingdon
Club and what those guys got up to when they were younger. Yeah.
Who are you starring alongside in that?
Who am I standing alongside? Certainly not any of them.
Who are starring with? Who else is in the film? That's alright.
Who am I starring with... Douglas Booth. Sam Claflin. Freddie Fox. Josh O'Connor. Matthew
Beard. Uh, Holliday Grainger. Um, I mean there's so many people. It's a really fantastic cast.
Yeah, it's Lone Scherfig, who directed An Education. It's going to be really good.
We haven't got a release date for that, though. No. Okay.
And then what is past that now that Posh is done?
Past that? I think I'm doing a film called Keys to the Street next year, an English film
with Tim Roth and Gemma Arterton. I think that's going in January or February, but aside
from that, I'm getting some time in New York at the end of the year, which is nice.
And no plans to go back into modeling?
I don't think so. It's not quite... It's not really what I enjoy. Um, I'm not really good
at it.
You look at models and you think, oh what do they do? But then you actually see the
good ones doing it, and you're like oh, that's quite good what they're doing. They're smart.
They're working. I can't understand that, getting really self conscious and saying listen,
tell me what to do. Tell me how to stand. Put your elbow up. Okay. You look awkward.
Change it. Fine. Sorry. Get out. You know? No...
You don't want to model alongside Cara Delevingne then? Because everyone. She's the it girl
at the moment.
She's the it girl at the moment. Um, I don't know. Maybe.
Keeping your mouth shut on girls. Yeah. So you don't upset your girlfriend. There you
go. Which is fair enough.
