They are the Western Sydney global pop sensations who were recently criticised for their American accents on The Project And 5 Seconds Of Summer cut casual and cool figures when they performed alongside the likes of Ariana Grande and the Backstreet Boys at the Wango Tango festival in Los Angeles on Saturday
Posing on the red carpet, the band - Ashton Irwin, Michael Clifford, Calum Hood and Luke Hemmings looked every bit the aloof pop stars as they barely cracked a smile
Scroll down for video Drummer Ashton Irwin was every bit the dapper rocker in a black and red leather jacket and matching leather pants
Guitarist Michael Clifford, meanwhile, affected a much more casual air in a loose fitting black jumper, matching cargo pants and a black baseball cap turned backwards
Bass player Calum Hood wore a burgundy-toned collared shirt that he tucked into a pair of black chinos, posing casually with his hands in his pockets
Front man Luke Hemmings exuded cool in a pair of circular John Lennon-esque sunglasses, a white collared shirt with the sleeves rolled up and a pair of black pants
The band were recently mocked by fans after they affected American twangs in their speech during an interview on The Project
Explaining their Northern Hemisphere lilt to host Waleed Aly, the band revealed it was due to the fact that they left Australia at such a young age
'I think because we moved away at 16/17 [years of age] and we moved to England so.that affected our accents when we were younger because we learnt to sing from a Danish woman,' drummer Ashton revealed
However, fans took to social media in droves to mercilessly lambast the band over their new mode of speech.'Can 5SOS stop with the fake American accents ya from Western Sydney
' one viewer tweeted while another chimed in with a similarly cutting: '5SOS sound SO American! RIP their Aussie accents,' alongside a crying-laughing emoji
The band were also forced to defend their twang during an appearance on the Kyle and Jackie O Show. When a caller inquired about the lilt, Michael responded with: ''People in other countries just don't understand Australians and that's a fact
'
