Gíday team, Jeremy Britton, 24 hour wealth coach, down on the beach after my sunrise
meditation. Itís 1st January 2013, New Yearís day and Happy 13, lucky 13. A very different
crowd down here this morning, normally I draw a little bit of a crowd sometimes 1 or 2 , sometimes
5 people and this morning we had 10 people down here. As I say a little bit of a different
crowd, because many of the people who are down here, had actually been down here all
night and theyíd been drinking. So my 1st coaching client for today was someone whoís
actually been a 4 day bender, and that was very interestingÖ What I said to this guy,
and what Iíll say to you is that I can show you to get exactly what you want all the time.
How do you get exactly what you want? How do I know exactly what you want? Because Iíve
been there. Iíve dealt with my own addictions in my own life, and in the past Iíve been
addicted to alcohol, in the past Iíve been addicted to smoking, Iíve been addicted to
sex, I tried a few different things out. And what I realised, ironically enough while I
was surfing, is that everybody wants basically the same thing. And my friend whoís been
on a 4 day bender here, he had been drinking because he wanted to be somebody else. Have
a few drinks and you thinks youíre Jackie Chan, have a few drinks and you think that
youíre George Clooney or whoever but youíre not the algebra person, youíre not the science
person, youíre not the tax accountant. Itís very difficult for you to actually do tax
and algebra while youíve been drinking, and possibly my theory is thatís why you do it.
You want to be out of your left brain, out your analytical mind, out of your mathematical
mind and into the other side of your brain. When I was smoking, I was addicted to smoking
for many many years. Iíd be sitting down and Iíd be doing stock charts, Iíd be doing
financial planning, Iíd be doing lots of left brain analytical mathematical stuff,
until every 60-90mins Iíd get this little urge to go outside and smoke the cigarette.
At the end of the day, what I realize is I wasnít actually addicted to nicotine, I was
addicted to walking away , getting outside, looking at the sky, taking a deep breathÖ
That was really what the cigarette was doing for me. When I was addicted to alcohol, I
used to go home every night and drink half a bottle of bourbon so I could actually stop
thinking about analysis and clients and that sort of stuff... Stop analyzing so that the
little voices on my head so I can actually sleep, so I could get some peace in my head.
Going onto the sex addiction, I was treated for sex addiction a number of years ago, yes
it does feel nice to have warm, wet parts of your body stroking up against somebody
else, but ultimately at the moment of impact, you are not thinking about algebra, you are
not thinking about your shopping list, you are not thinking about your mathematical analytical
process because it is actually impossible to have an *** while youíre in your left
brain. Itís also impossible fall asleep while youíre in your left brain which is why the
alcohol went so well in conjunction with the sex sometimes. We all want to get out about
our left brain, and into our right brain and some of us use different tools, whether its
smoking, whether its alcohol, whether its sex, whether its surfing, getting out there
in a relaxed state, focused on nothing but on the wave, not thinking about shopping because
youíve got to be relaxed in the motion of the ocean but you also have to get ready to
react at a momentís notice. Surfing, fishing are actually the ultimate meditation because
you are in a relaxed state of awareness. When you are fishing you are not just sitting there
with a line in the water, youíve got to be ready to reactÖ the moment you feel a nibble
youíve got to jerk quickly on the line, otherwise the fish gets away and your bait gets away.
All of these activities are designed to actually put you into the other side of your mind.
Get out to your left brain, get into your right mind, that is ultimately what we all
want. The artists had it figured it out but if you can actually manage to do it, without
being addicted to another substance, without being addicted to another person, and not
that thereís anything wrong with fishing or surfing but meditation is the ultimate
mobile device. You can actually do it anywhere, you got the equipment, you got the tools,
you donít need to bring anything with you. You can be on the plane, you can be on the
car, you can be on the bed, you can be on your home, you can be sitting with some really
boring people and just shut your eyes. Get out of your left brain and get into your right
mind and that what were all seeking. Thatís what we are all searching for and you can
do it with no cost , or very low cost and that is going to mean, you can actually get
what you want, when you want, wherever you want very cost effectively. Iíll talk to
you soon, down on the beach or at 24hourwealthcoach.com . Enjoy you meditation ñ however you get
it.
