Taric: I think about a lot—
about my dead father.
I think a lot about the good memories I had with him,
vacations we took together and how much fun we had,
and I also think about a lot of the mistakes that "maed"—
that I made throughout my life being his son,
but the day I think about the most is the day he died,
how a heart rate monitor seemed to scream at me waking me up
with the alert that he had an irregular heart rate
and that he only had a few minutes left to live
and how I stammered for my cell phone
and called my brothers and my mom.
I remember how Yasmin
stayed with me
through the night
and left while I was asleep
(crying): but what I remember most of all
(continues crying): is how Mark and Lance
stayed at home playing video games,
while dad was dying in the hospital.
(cries) I am not saying (sniffs)
that the death of my father was the worst day of my life,
but in many cases is was the only day of my life.
Mark and Lance, I don't know if you will ever see this,
(cries) and I definitely don't know if I can ever forgive you. Captions by Taric Alani. http://taric25.livejournal.com/
