Hi and welcome to another review!
Today we'll be having a look at McFarlane Toys Spawn VI (unmasked variant) from series 20 of the Spawn line of action figures!
This figure has been released in 2001 and it's 6" scaled, it's about 6.9 inches tall!
Let's take a look at the packaging!
Spawn comes in this blister with a very large card, featuring the Spawn logo on top, Classic Series Twenty.
At the bottom, a picture of Spawn and some info on the series.
As you can see, this figure is based on the art of Greg Capullo.
Visit Spawn.com to find all the figures from the Spawn line.
On the back, the other figures in this wave, including the masked variant which I prefer aside for the accessories. I prefer the accessories of this particular variant, unmasked, which I'll show you soon.
At the bottom, other lines by McFarlane: Terminator 2, Movie Maniacs...
...Sport lines and Metallica.
And here's Spawn out of the packaging!
A very nicely detailed figure considering that it came out in 2001!
Let's take a look at the face! Really scary! With this open mouth and the burned face.
Very nice painting on the eyes. I don't know if you can see it, but there's a dark green outline and a very light green on the inside part. Really really nice!
He has this very large torso with the Spawn emblem...
...and this skull on the belt area with two very long plastic chains attached.
Very nice this gauntlet on Spawn's right forearm. Very large and pointy.
I always liked Spawn's costume, also because it's asymmetric. On the right leg we have this sort of flared boot, while on the left leg we have these bands, always full of spikes.
These chains on Spawn's right arm are sculpted.
A very neat action figure!
As you can see, it is pre-posed. His legs are spread...
...and his torso is arched this way, but he can stand on his own pretty well.
As for the articulation, it is extremely limited. Don't forget that is a 2001 figure!
Head can fully rotate. Arms can fully rotate, but can't move in and out. There's rotation at the right forearm and hand.
Rotation at the left forearm, but not at the hand.
Oblique cuts at the hips so the legs can rotate 360 degrees. Single jointed knees and rotation at the right boot and at the left ankle.
As for the accessories, we have...
...a sword. It's made out of hard plastic, very nicely detailed! Being hard plastic, be very careful because it may break pretty easily.
Anyway, it's very nice!
And then we have an impressive accessory: the severed Malebolgia head! Really impressive!
Super super detailed!
With this slime that drips down to the ground.
A really impressive accessory!
And here's the complete look of Spawn, with all his accessories! Really fantastic!
I must say it takes a while to put the accessories into Spawn's hands, specially the sword, but once it's done you have an outstanding display piece!
As you can see, the head touches the ground so it helps the stability of the figure. However, it's not necessary, he can stand perfectly on his own.
Let's take a closer look!
Really really nice!
If you're either a Spawn fan or a detailed figure lover, you must own this piece!
The selling point is certainly the accessory department which makes it more than just a figure, an actual diorama!
As for the price, I bought it on Multiplayer (italian webstore) paying a surprisingly low price: 10,90 EURO (about 14 USD) including shipping because I reached 100 EURO ordering other stuff and I got the free shipping.
I said surprisingly because this figure is actually pretty rare on ebay and it ranges from 25 to 30 USD plus shipping.
It's still available on Multiplayer, I put the link in the info box. Don't miss it (sorry, italians only)!
That being said, I'll see you on the next video! BYE!
