COMM: The Billington family has a full house.
As well as their three children, Pamela and Daron share their home with ten spirits.
Pamela: My children are physic and can see
and talk to spirits.
Pamela: I haven't tried to nurture it, I just
take everyday as it comes. If they're here, they're here.
COMM: Having sprits around the home is now
a normal part of family life.
Pamela: I love having spirits in the house;
I think it's great. It opens yourself up to the possibility of anything's possible.
Pamela: The spirits live in the attic. Jadon
and Lucy - they can see the spirits.
Jadon: He's there.
Daron: What's he doing?
Jadon: Being weird.
Daron: What do you mean, weird?
Jadon: Dancing.
Lucy: There's music playing.
Pamela: You can hear Scottish music?
Lucy: Yeah, I'm going now.
Lucy: I can see Liz - being an idiot. She's
waving.
COMM: The spirits made their presence known
to the children a couple of years ago and at first, it was a little frightening.
Lucy: I heard like little tapping on my door,
then I looked out there again - it was just gone.
Lucy: A long time ago, I met Liz who's a little
girl in a white dress and all black round there. Skin white. Really scary.
The spirits are now settled in the family,
though dad Daron is still getting used to having them around the house.
Daron: Little bit daunting having spirits
walking around the house, especially when you're trying to have a shower and do other
private things, but I've been assured by my wife that they don't see us when we're naked,
so that's nice.
Daron: I'm still not really convinced one
hundred percent. I think there's a little bit of truth in it. I think, you know, there's
a scope for everything in this world. My kids aren't liars and if you listen to how they
speak etcetera, they tend to be quite believable.
COMM: The family are aware of how their kids
abilities might seem to others.
Daron: People are very skeptical when the
kids speak about the fact that they can see spirits, but I think it's one of those things
that people... when they don't understand it, they tend to scoff at it.
Pamela: Other people react differently, don't
they? It just depends on their own circumstances and what they've experienced for themselves.
You have to experience it to understand.
