Quick thought for the day. For those of you who obsess over ideas generally because of
stress. Maybe something happening in your family, something at school, something at
work, whatever. There's some problem and you really feel like you can fix it and so you
obsess over it. You look at it from every conceivable angle. You ask as many questions
as you can think of to answer it, and it gets to a point where you're actually damaging
your life because you're no longer living to experience anything else. You're just bogged
down under this horrible, obsessive, thing. So what I do is something called the foghorn
when this happens to me, and it's essentially just my brain saying, "Time to stop." :foghorn sound:
And then I stop thinking about everything completely. I might return to these thoughts
after a period of time, after I've calmed down and just accepted that this is out of
my hands or out of my control, or something. I need to come to some new conclusion but
I can't do that in that frame of mind. The foghorn blasts me out of that frame of mind,
and I go do something that's brainless, or whatever. I have a tendency to pick up some
stupid new hobby, and my current one, juggling, which I'm not good at, but maybe that's good.
Then I focus on how bad I am at this and not on the obsessive idea. So, just something
for you to try, maybe. I'm not going to give any suggestions because I don't want to inhibit
your creativity, but I would love to hear what you guys come up with if this is something
that you think could suit you. Because honestly, it's not good to sit in a dark room, like
what I'm doing right now, and think crazy thoughts forever and ever and ever. It's bad,
and it's makes you a very flat person. You don't want to be a flat person. Give it a
try if you never have and yes, tell me what you come up with. I'd love to hear it and
I might steal some ideas for myself. Have a good one, guys.
