Good morning! I am Alex Read-Brain, the marketing director at Superior Beds. I am on the road,
and I am recording this video blog of the beds I sleep in. This is travelling blog edition
or entry five. I am in Southern Germany where I have been having a wonderful time, and I’ve
been sleeping on this bed for six days, so this is in the spare room at a friend’s
house, and this is a really unique bed, and I haven’t seen anything like it before.
So, if we talk about this a little bit, it looks just like a single bed at the moment
because if you look at this, my hands are no more than 60 or 70 cm apart, but what happens
is that this bed has a sliding section underneath here. What happens is that slides out, and
these mattresses then form a double bed, and it’s a very, it’s a very good sized double
indeed, probably the same size as a king-sized bed at about 160 cm, so it’s actually fantastic
because you can push it up against the wall like they have done here in their home office.
It’s a nice covering on it. It can be a great day bed if you want a bit of a snooze
away from the kids or just away from whoever you are with, and otherwise let’s talk about
this mattress a little bit. So this mattress at the moment, um, when it pulls out to form
a double is only, not only, maybe 10 cm, and it’s a nice bed to sleep on for a few nights.
You definitely wouldn't want to sleep on it long-term because underneath here, I am not
sure if you can see, um, but if you look here, it’s purely foam, so if we just move the
camera around a little bit, ok, you can see here, that’s a pure foam mattress, ok, so
it would get a little bit worn, and there is not much airflow or any natural fibers
in it, but for what it accomplishes as a second or a spare bed, fantastic idea, and you can
pull it out even underneath the slats there is a little bit of storage space. They’ve
got some sleeping bags and some bed linens and things like that. Anyway, I am moving
on today, so I look forward to another entry of The Travelling Bed, and I’ll talk to
you later. Keep safe!
