Hi everyone! My name is Lesha Maltsev
and today we'll be learning the crankflip.
The crankflip is the free rotation of the cranks, one full turn backwards.
It's considered a relatively simple trick, and can be mastered by any beginner.
Loosen the chain, so that the pedals can freely rotate backwards.
Get on your bike and begin riding slowly.
Attempt to spin the pedals backwards without doing a bunny hop.
Here's how I do it myself:
I lower my rear leg, so that my cranks aren't parallel to the ground,
then I lower the toe of my leading leg
This stance makes spinning the pedals much easier.
Now simply hook and drag the front pedal to make the cranks spin.
If you jump up slightly from the bike, you'll have more time to execute.
Stop the pedals with your front foot.
Your legs will naturally gravitate to the starting no foot position.
Train these movements until they're second nature -
this will allow you to combine the trick with a bunny hop.
I should also add that soft sneakers will help with this trick,
since they make hooking and spinning the pedals much easier.
Executing the crankflip in combos will add flavor and variety to your riding.
Thanks for watching!
Ride safely, and till next time!
