Presenting: Minecraft!
What is Minecraft?
Let's play the fool and say:
Minecraft, this is an addictive drug,
which the government forgot to put on the DPL list.
So we can play it right now.
Thanx for the info, nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more ...
Minecraft has a bit of a FPS, a cave researcher simulator ...
But first and foremost it's a toy block game.
Beginning to build a shelter for the night ...
(Where the Wild Things Are)
And then, over time, you build huge buildings ...
Huge cities ...
You can even build entire adventure games ...
that other players can download or visit on your server.
In single-player, however, one begins on a desert island, all to himself,
so, let's have a look around.
Still in the settings:
We can use red cyan glasses.
But we have not, so we will not. Done, done, back to game.
Here we are stranded on a desert island.
This is how it looks ...
In fact we should build a shelter as soon as possible
(at night the monsters come, *hoooowl*)
But one day lasts 10 minutes, the sun has just risen ...
So there's East.
We don't care and look about.
Over there: sheep. Really nice, we love wools ...
"Määähh ..."
You ... give me wool. So. (No Animals harmed!)
This is our first building block. We can put it there: zapp.
These are the beginnings. Not very useful yet, get it back.
More sheep, black sheep, brown sheep(?) ...
*slouch slouch slouch*
Majestic mountain massif over there ...
Wide free area ...
And there's the sea.
The large, wide sea.
A small lake lies in front.
Looks cuddly to me ...
Nice place for our first hut, isn't it?
Wow, what's that?
A lava lake, right on the surface.
And there - you see that mountain in the background?
Is it the devil himself?
I shout joyfully: Here I am Man, here dare it to be! (Goethe)
Maybe over there, into the dirt.
We excavate a tiny cave ...
And then we arrange our flat step by step.
There's plenty of time at the bottom, 10 minutes ...
*mumble mumble* remove dirt
Leave it blank down here, later we can build a terrace.
This is surely not wrong. Exactly.
*mumble mumble*
Here we find our first stone - can we dig it?
Oh yes, but it takes years. For that we need a pickaxe.
But no axe withoud wood.
And no wood without trees.
cos the trees are the keys, overseas.
Once more look around - wonderful ...
So let's go - chopping wood.
Wood is easy to chop with a cube of wools.
See? Very easy.
OK, takes a little ...
Wood ...
Wood ...
We can make - I think - 16 planks out of 4 of this logs.
For a start this schould be ...
... ok, not enough, but it's an onset.
Seeds fell off?
... remove that leaves ...
There are saplings. We should plant them.
We do no overexploitation, do we?
Sapling on the ground: right mouse click.
(Digging is done with the left one.)
Bounce, bounce ...
Let us open the inventory [key E]
... put the logs in the crafting area ...
... and get 16 wooden planks out of it.
Put them into the lowest row, these are the hotkey slots.
Here we go!
(I've said that before, didn't I?)
But to make a pickaxe we first need a workbench.
Do the following:
4 wooden planks ... it's a crafting table.
Put it down there ...
Now we dropped the wood from the crafting area.
Never mind, just pick it up.
Now we can - again by clicking right mouse button ...
2 woods, one in top of the other ...
... to bisect the stack, use the right button ...
... to get the entire stack use the left one.
Right bisect, one in top of the other - this is the way sticks are made.
8 should do it - now we put the wood on the top ...
This is a hoe.
With a hoe you can till the the ground, to get wheat ...
... which we do not want for now.
This is an axe - used to ease the process of collecting logs and planks.
What we want is a pickaxe. Here we go.
So, and because monsters appear at some point, we also need a sword.
Here's how:
... put it all back ...
And here we ... uhm ... go!
Klack - klack - klack
{What's in your head while digging? "Klack klack klack", or "Dum-di-dum-di-dum", or "Coal coal coal"?}
{Gold Gold gold gold gold ...}
Did I dug too deep?
Never mind. We put a step-down there.
{Gold Gold gold gold gold ... famous dwarf song.}
This will be the view from the window.
*bounce*
... it's more beatiful from above ...
We do not chop out the entire floor ...
... but replace it sometimes.
This is how we dig the dirt - with sapling in hand. (Why not?)
With a shovel, it is a bit faster, but not really worth it.
{Should we sing a song so long?}
{Gold Gold gold gold gold ...}
That's the awesome thing with Minecraft. All the day you can ...
... find coal.
Coal is a useful thing, because we will need a light for the night.
At least it wouldn't hurt.
{Glod Glod glod glod glod ...}
Coal takes a little longer - but now we have a lot of stones.
We could craft a pickaxe made of stone.
Which is more stable and chops a little faster.
Gimme all the ... {Glod Glod glod glod glod}
But what we still need to do urgently is to build a door in here.
No shore without door ...
To keep the monsters out there.
What about the floor?
Dirt or wood?
We make ourself comfortable, using wood.
There ... there ... and there.
Need to chop more wood, cause what are doors made of?
Not one single tree in this area.
Soon we have to plant some here.
... so that it doesn't look as untenanted as now ...
Or do we build here a bunch of useless stuff?
That (little tree) has not grown yet, of course.
What is the position of the sun?
If anybody wants to really know what time it is, just look for the sun.
Ahh, it sets in the west already.
Time to hurry up. We have to swim to that island.
(not swim, we can wade it - but the speed is just as low.)
Now we try to chop as many trees as possible here.
It will not be faster using the pickaxe ...
Will it? Try ...
No, it's not faster, but therefor the pickaxe perishs earlier.
So we stop that, it's stupid.
{Wood wood wood good good gold gold ...}
We're in kinda hurry, not poking for saplings ...
I prefer to leave the lowermost log untouched, though it's not neccesary here ...
So one can jump on it and reach the farthest parts.
You can dig within 4 blocks of the target, no matter if by hand or tool.
Some saplings. We plant them right back.
If you wanna jump [Space key], make sure there's nothing above your head ...
... else it wont work.
We grab that tree.
It's getting dark, my dear friends.
I disappear, I'll do the bending, I go home. {This position is an ex-position.}
Have to hurry ... hide from the monsters.
They spawn, as soon as it is dark.
(That's what monsters are doing.)
The workbench ... we could pocket it ...
But that costs some time.
So it will stay the night out there.
(Why do I bounce all the time?)
Some sand is going to be filled in here later, forming our private beach just in front of the hut.
*grummel* I do hear monsters ....
... and I'm under attack. Not good.
Switch to the sword [mouse wheel or numeric key, "6" in this case]
A stupid zombie. Go away!
He dropped a feather here for us.
As the chicken would do, if we ...
...?
We craft ... what do we craft?
One door. Not more.
Quitting by escape key, gathering the wood - is faster then putting it back.
Set it here ...
*Fail* Wrong place ...
Tearing down a door ...
... is not so easy, when it opens and closes instead. (Hold the button pushed!)
Placing it right this time. There.
It is importent to build it from this side.
To attack the monsters and quickly retreat.
If we build it the other way, the monsters could do the same with us.
Which we do not want.
Now crafting a light.
With one stick and one coal.
Mhh, you can never have enough of them.
Going to highlight the clime (and again: right button).
Now we could dig a bit ...
While the night stays out there.
We could go on a hunt for monsters - but we're poorly equipped by now.
So we set ourselves comfortable in this premises.
{Glod Glod glod glod glod ...}
This now will go on and on and on ... dig dig dig
So it's time to say:
Turn your internet off
There's nothing more to see. I dog coal. Bye!
